...omit procedures such as abortions and positive HIV tests from the electronic health records (EHR) that every American is supposed to have by 2014 under the terms of the economic stimulus law that President Barack Obama signed last year.

I’m wondering... like credit reports are we allowed to review these records (at no cost to us) and correct them when they’re wrong?

Any review by members of the proletariat are unnecessary, comrade.

Will we be able to change the checkmark from let her die to let her live?

This has got to be the nightmare of all nightmares that we are living. Why would anyone with any sense allow things to be left out of medical records? The only reason that I can think of would be to “thin the herd”.

Health care legislation needs to be repealed ASAP. These idiots don’t even know what is in it, but voted for it. Hmmmm, I read that Australia is in dire need of high school teachers.

It's politically correct to kill your baby or to be a diseased queer, but by golly they're not tolerating that extra 5 pounds you have around your waist!
Talk about a crazed government out of control! These people are insane with power.

Since the HIV records are closed, we must assume that all queers have aids and stay as far away as possible. That means not allowing any within company restrooms

Since abortion has numerous downrange medical implications it is stupid not to have it included in records.

If the attending doctor doesn't know his patient is another diseased queer, and he's overloaded with screaming patients demanding their instant freebie, someone else is going to die from the disease along with the homo. The overworked doctor isn't going to be as careful.

This infanticide bill is indeed another left wing abomination, for sure. I tried to find a bright side, but could only find one. With free abortions, maybe the democrat voters will abort themselves out of existence.
People on the right need to work together more. Why not have all the children you can? If the right works together like the nation used to (before government took over the position), we could help our fellow right wing families with lots of children live a happy, need free life. If my neighbors (no democrats) decided to have lots of kids, I'd be happy to donate knitted garments, quilts, and play clothes for the winter. We have a huge garden and fruit trees, too. I like kids!

I like your pro-kid and can-do attitude. If I weren’t post-menopausal, I’d be “working with” my husband on the “birthrate issue”!

Even the non-religious can agree the Bible contains a lot of wisdom. The Bible says to be fruitful and multiply, because a large, faithful population is like an army. In the world today, it makes a lot of sense. If we multiply, and the socialist abort, in the end we win without having to fire a shot!

The other Winston, Winston Smith, the chief character of Orwell’s 1984 would recognize this world. A world where freedom is slavery and up can be down depending on a bureaucrat’s decree. The truth is that the financial incentive for providers to go to EMRs is only a bait and switch and many providers that have gone to EMRs have not qualified for the benefit because the qualifications keep changing.
I know that many will say that they will simply tell their physician not to list anything in their EMR so that the government cannot snoop on their medical records. That’s may seem to be a solution, but the doctor or his employer cannot be reimbursed if essentially nothing but a name appears in the medical record. There are specific coding rules that require documentation of patient responses and physical exam findings. If your doctor does not provide the information, the doctor (or employer) cannot be reimbursed and if the doctor does try to be reimbursed for work that was not documented, he/she will be subjected to penalties now raised to $50k per incident. Furthermore, doctors always insist on documenting important information because it essential for patient care and it protects them from litigation.

cause when you present to the ER for altered mental status, cough with fever, Kaposi's sarcoma or abdominal pain, it isn't important to know if you've had an abortion or HIV.

The bureaucrats in charge of medicine currently are idiots, when they are not even physicians or nurses we will get this thing called Obamacare. should be real fun.

When my sister was in high-school, a girl in her class got a summer clerical job with the County Health Dept. (it was one of those Gubbermint Summer Make-Work programs for unemployed yutes). This girl had access to health dept. records, and came back to school in the fall armed and ready to gossip about everyone in the school who had had an abortion or been treated for an STD, etc. It was absolutely horrible. No consequences were ever paid though.

If the health records are to be of use to doctors, those could be pertinent information. So, apparently helping patients and doctors more easily get health info is NOT the reason for these electronic health records....
