Public Radio Publicist Apologizes For Controversial Remarks About Limbaugh
NPR Blog ^ | July 21, 2010 | David Gura

This morning, The Daily Caller posted a story about an email message radio publicist Sarah Spitz reportedly sent to Journolist, a now-defunct listserv.

"If you were in the presence of a man having a heart attack, how would you respond?" The Daily Caller article began. "As he clutched his chest in desperation and pain, would you call 911? Would you try to save him from dying? Of course you would."

--snip--

I made poorly considered remarks about Rush Limbaugh to what I believed was a private email discussion group from my personal email account. As a publicist, I realize more than anyone that is no excuse for irresponsible behavior. I apologize to anyone I may have offended and I regret these comments greatly; they do not reflect the values by which I conduct my life.

I think she's lying, and that with the other libtards on that listserv, she should be dragged out of whatever office her overpaid ass is in, down to the street, and strung up with piano wire. But this doesn't reflect the values by which I conduct my life.

Nice idea, Sunken, but I'd go one further.

I think she needs the whole Clockwork Orange treatment, but being forced to watch the Rush Limbaugh dittocam.

Instead of aversion, I think it'd change her mind.

Oh, and one other thing. Remember David Brock? My daughter picked up a copy of his book Blinded by the Right at a rummage sale for a buck or so, and if I read right, he

a) went to Berkeley

b) was a closet (and is now openly) queer.

Why did anyone ever think he was a conservative?

Cheers!

She might want to be careful wishing such evil and she needs to actually apologize.

Right. The apology is not in synch with her hatred:

http://24ahead.com/sarah-spitz-npr-admits-shed-cheer-rush-limbaugh-heart-attack

[quote] In a post to the list-serv Journolist, an online meeting place for liberal journalists, (NPR producer Sarah Spitz) wrote that she would “Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out” as (Rush Limbaugh) writhed in torment [from a heart attack].

In boasting that she would gleefully watch a man die in front of her eyes, Spitz seemed to shock even herself. “I never knew I had this much hate in me,” she wrote. “But he deserves it.” [unqote]

[Clarification about her employment — not NPR directly. KCRW is an independently-operated public radio station.]
