I was at the airfield at Ft Knox when this young hero returned home. His wife is so young, I have daughters her age and older. His daughter was so cute as she was looking at the crowd. Ft Knox did this hero right as the entire 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division lined the route off of the airfild four soldiers deep.

The local media seemed to shun the arrival. I saw one television crew from Louisville. I understand the need for privacy, but there were many who could not be there and would like to have the opportunity to see the ceremony. Of course the Patriot Guard was present. Those folks are wonderful.
My hat is off to the soldiers of the 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. Very professional! Makes this old soldier proud to know we have these young herors defending us.

I attended a military funeral procession just last week. Never met the guy, a complete stranger. Very moving experience. God bless Mr. Garvin and his family.
