Authorities in California said today they have opened an investigation into Goldline International, a company that pioneered the practice of weaving its sales pitches into broadcasts by popular conservative political personalities -- including two former presidential candidates and Fox News host Glenn Beck -- to sell hundreds of millions of dollars worth of gold every year.
"There are two main types of complaints we're seeing," said Adam Radinsky of the Santa Monica City Attorney's office, which has launched what it described as a joint investigation with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.
"One is that customers say that they were lied to and misled in entering into their purchases of gold coins," he said. "And the other group is saying that they received something different from what they had ordered."

I noticed that Golden wasn’t on the Fox station today.
Heck, I often receive something different from what I ordered. I thought it was just the quality of employee in the payroll these days...
Ever talk to your financial consultant and ask him his opinion of investing in precious metals..??
Ask your doctor if gold investing is right for you.
I have never ordered anything where I thought I should have got something else, or thought it cost less.
hmmm, wait a minute ...
Shirley this sounds sirius
I would imagine anyone who lives in California realizes Santa Monica is so far to the left it is not coming back. However, we now have to wait and see what the State Secret Police have come up with.
I just saw a commercial for goldline on Fox.
Because this story is more important than the New Black Panthers killing white babies.
I have never dealt with Goldline. I was turned off by their ads, particularly when they boasted of a top rating by the Better Business Bureau. The BBB is a toothless organization, very slow to respond to consumer complaints. They do not investigate on their own: they don’t see it as their role. They only list complaints, and if the firm which has a complaint merely responds, they mark the case as resolved, without ever even talking to the consumer again. I am completely disillusioned with the BBB, and if I had a business, I would not even join BBB unless the local state chapter agreed to be vigorous in going after dishonest operators.
I am familiar with a notorious travel-club scam, during which it took well over a year for the BBB to react appropriately to a deluge of consumer complaints. Only when the NJ State Attorney Generals office finally took action, filing a case, did the BBB listing on thescammers truly begin to indicate that something was badly amiss.
A good BBB rating means next to nothing, which is why most businesses do not boast about such a thing in their ads.

The latest Democrat National Socialist tactic: harass the sponsors of Conservative talk shows. Bring it on.
Interesting. Maybe they just took it off of Beck’s show?????

Don’t call me Shirley! >:(
A little off topic here, but the media isn’t ready to cover the border violence the way Beck has. I went to his website and viewed the photos of the mutilated and headless bodies. It’s rough stuff. And it WILL be here in our country soon.
The marketing of ‘collectibles’ has been ripping people off for years, from dinner plates to coin proofs (that aren’t), water glasses, etc. Montel Williams had a commemorative Obama coin that had a picture glued to it, that was hawked as something that would increase in value. There’s nothing easier to find out than the market price of gold, unlike things like used cars, land or antiques. If these idiots are calling Goldline for gold as an investment, they should be asking about purity and weight, period. Gold jewelry also never sells for the market price of gold. This whole investigation stinks and is an obvious attempt to intimidate sponsors who support conservatives.
“Goldline has turned the sale of gold into a massive retail operation that capitalizes on popular conservative figures most notably Glenn Beck.”
Seems to me that is good target marketing (demographics)
Guess the folks in Santa Monica won’t be happy ‘til Beck has pimple cream and tampons as his advertisers.
What’s the point in picking on Glenn Beck because of this one advertizer? Goldline runs ads all over the place, not just on Beck.
Because the MSM hates (and fears) GB
