If it was a whitey who did this 24 years ago do you really think the MSM would let it go? So the answer is to fight fire with fire?
I think we should fight fire with water.

“Dredging up a 24 year old event to play to her racist NAACP audience is a lapse in judgement that should be met with termination.”
I saw on Fox where Jealous (NAACP) issued a statement condemning racism in this case but more specifically against all minority and women farmers.
I didn’t hear any disagreement in the video of her speech. If this had happened at a Tea Party event she woulda been kicked off the stage.

We've been taking the high road for how long and look where it has gotten us. Nowhere.

Shes a hardcore racist until and unless she can show by her actions that shes otherwise. And maybe, just maybe, she did exactly that in the 24 years since - so why not report on it that way?

I didnt hear any disagreement in the video of her speech. Exactly. There was no "I did this and it was horribly wrong." And heck, the audience seemed to be extremely happy with what this person did.
Disgusting.

Sherrod said the short video clip excluded the breadth of the story about how she eventually worked with the man over a two-year period to help ward off foreclosure of his farm, and how she eventually became friends with the farmer and his wife. I wonder if the 'breadth of the story' was told that night and edited out of the video, or did she just relate that part after she was exposed to mitigate her statements. It is a big difference.
I heard yesterday that reporters calling her office were told that they were 'working on a response', which sounds suspicious.

Sherrod said the short video clip excluded the breadth of the story about how she eventually worked with the man over a two-year period to help ward off foreclosure of his farm, and how she eventually became friends with the farmer and his wife. I guess the farmer and his wife were okay "typical white people."
"And I went on to work with many more white farmers," she said. "The story helped me realize that race is not the issue, it's about the people who have and the people who don't. When I speak to groups, I try to speak about getting beyond the issue of race."
"Don't pay any attention to what I said or my body language in the video. Don't believe your lying eyes."
What a bunch of dreck. I'm supposed to believe this from the newspaper that has a racist editor in chief (Cynthia Tucker)?

Because it shows that racism at the NAACP is systemic.
Leftists have been trouncing conservatives for decades. Steadily pushing back the boundaries of our culture. Conservatives haven’t changed tactics and somehow expect different results.
NAACP is a leftist, criminal and subversive organization using race to attack America.

[...] AJC completely misconstrued the message she was trying to convey. Idiot doesn't realize it's not what she was trying to convey, but it was her behavior. She could have been trying to put the audience to sleep with the story but the story is what would matter.

what does it matter???? she’s a racist in a gov’t position
To: Izzy Dunne
Maybe, but (as I posted upthread) her body language puts the lie to being “misconstrued.”
Also, we’re supposed to fuggedaboudit b/c this happened 24 years ago? NAASCP has no problem reminding people about the horrible death of James Byrd back in 1998.
When, precisely, do we give racist acts a pass b/c they happened a long time ago and when do we have an obligation to remember? It would be helpful if you could enlighten us with guidelines (preferably by race so I’ll know how to act). /s

No, she didn’t say what she said. Lewis Carroll, call your office.
To: tobyhill
This is so disgusting in the worst way - It doesn't matter if the person is black, white, yellow, purple, orange, red - it's
WRONG. Regardless of how she tries to spin it - she admitted in her tale that she didn't do her job because of her racist views and it doesn't matter where she was working at the time or how long ago she claims the incident happened.
I'm so sick of the "it's only racism if white people do it" mentality.

Many years ago, I was the only white guy in a black funk band.
We had trouble getting gigs at black clubs because of that.
One club owner asked the band leader, while he was looking at me, “Is this a mixed band?”
The bandleader answered, “Yes.”
Then the black club owner, now glowering at me, asked the bandleader, “How mixed?”
We actually got a gig once playing at a NAACP dinner. The only people who would talk to me were my bandmates.
The mistrust and dislike for me were palpable.
Because I was hanging around with the black band so often, I took up some of their language, like calling one another “brother”.
Once, when I said this to someone who wasn’t part of the band, he said to me through clenched teeth, “I ain’t yo’ bruthah.”
The black community is SATURATED with anti-white sentiment.
They are SEETHING with it.
They are STEEPED in it.
I’m surprised it’s taking this long for people to realize it.

And if she felt she was right, why did she resign?
“You got caught. Help us make this all go away by resigning right now. We'll see you have a new position feeding at another government trough by Labor Day. It might not be as lucrative right now as your present position, but we'll make it up to you over time. Don't resign now and we'll leave you to twist in the wind.”
But you knew that.
