McCain: From Respecting Obama to Disrespecting Conservatives
J.D. Hayworth 2010 ^ | 2010-07-19

Posted on 07/19/2010 7:11:07 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

McCain and Hayworth faced off in two debates over the weekend.

On July 17, 2010 in Tucson, Arizona a debate hosted by KUAT PBS-6 was intended to be a debate on the issues facing Arizona. But at every opportunity, McCain threw out personal attacks on J.D., including calling him a "pig." This is a far different McCain than the one who debated and campaigned against Obama - and a far cry from what you would expect from a statesman.

The reality is, McCain has been attacking J.D. with negative advertisements since before J.D. even entered the race. McCain has spent in excess of $6 million attacking J.D.

In stark contrast, J.D. has only run one television ad throughout Arizona - which was an appeal from J.D.'s wife Mary for McCain to stop the personal attacks and discuss the issues. From all accounts, an unprovoked McCain has come out swinging - focusing on everything but the issues.

During the debate, Hayworth responded to McCain's attacks by stating, "If you had told the truth about Barack Obama the way you're spreading falsehoods about me, you might be president of the United States right now." No words could ring truer.

It is vital that J.D. gets his message to the voters of Arizona during the final month of the campaign. People need to know what we know - there is only one "consistent conservative" in this race. McCain has been in Washington too long and it is time we thank him for his service and bring him home.

Because there is just over a week before voters get early ballots - we need your contribution now so we can put it to good use before the majority of Arizona Republican primary voters vote the first week of August.

The very foundations of our republic are at stake. We need a Senator who truly believes in conservative principles and will stand up to the leftist agenda overrunning Washington. Your help is urgently needed to accomplish this.

McCain insults hard-working, honest Arizonans (again)

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12155322/

(snip)

McCain responded by saying immigrants were taking jobs nobody else wanted. He offered anybody in the crowd $50 an hour to pick lettuce in Arizona.

Shouts of protest rose from the crowd, with some accepting McCain’s job offer.

“I’ll take it!” one man shouted.

McCain insisted none of them would do such menial labor for a complete season. “You can’t do it, my friends.”

Some in the crowd said they didn’t appreciate McCain questioning their work ethic.

If JD doesn’t win the GOP primary, I hope he sticks around and continues to fight. He’s been outstanding!

I watched that debate, and McCain't was pathetic; he cannot debate his past behavior because it was atrocious, and it was true.

It was the first time I had seen Hayworth, and frankly I got sort of the "joe isuzu" feeling from his style and delivery. It was too "prepared" and "scripted" to be natural, showing that he came prepared to go for the jugular.

The third guy, whose name escapes me, was more real and seemed more sincere, even though his delivery was not as polished and his public speaking inexerience showed...but he's all about the Constitution, and I like that.

But the grand loser of that debate, was McCain't.

Rush explained it quite well today. McCain is part of the “ruling class” along with the dimoKKKRATS. J. D. Hayworth is not part of the “ruling class” so McCain will go harder against a Hayworth than his buddies/friends in the ruling class. Explains things quite well and McCains behavior over the years.

You’ve got to wonder what’s in the water in AZ and NV. A semi-trained monkey should be able to beat McCain and Reid.

Hayworth did talk radio for years. He had plenty of practice to be polished.
