Days after the NAACP clashed with Tea Party members over allegations of racism, a video has surfaced showing an Agriculture Department official regaling an NAACP audience with a story about how she withheld help to a white farmer facing bankruptcy.
Shirley Sherrod, the department's Georgia director of Rural Development, is shown in the clip describing "the first time I was faced with having to help a white farmer save his farm." Sherrod, who is black, claimed the farmer took a long time trying to show he was "superior" to her. The audience laughed as she described how she determined his fate.
"He had to come to me for help. What he didn't know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him," she said. "I was struggling with the fact that so many black people have lost their farmland and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land -- so I didn't give him the full force of what I could do. I did enough."

how many billions of dollars has our government given black farmers the sued because they simply felt they did not get help fast enough?
Can you say LAW SUIT
Racist filth.
When is her last day at that job ?
Chances are she’ll either be fired and rehired by another black organization, or she’ll get her white bosses’ job.
What EVIL lurks in these people’s hearts? What is the source of such hatred?
Eric Holder would sue the white farmer.
There should be no question, she should resign immediatly. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 dollars.
I wonder when we will hear from Jessie and Al
“What he didn’t know while he was taking all that time trying to show me he was superior to me was I was trying to decide just how much help I was going to give him..”
And the Government is full of these useless, petty miscreants that aren’t worthy of a drop of sweat from the brow of the “little folk” they rule over. I hope there is a special place in hell for them.
Or be offered a position in the Obama administration.....
Another thought, but I wasn’t sure.
I just don’t understand the hatred that lurks in their hearts. I really don’t.
"There is zero tolerance for discrimination at USDA, and I strongly condemn any act of discrimination against any person," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a written statement.
Firing her would have shown zero tolerance. Allowing her to resign showed you were interested in doing damage control.
bet if she resigns, she gets a fat pension payout. + she can now collect unemployment benefits.
I’m sure Obama will give her a farmer czar job.
She seems to blindly demonstrate
her lack of intelligence,
and that as a likely source
of her own insecurity,
leading her to characterize
the white farmer’s statements
as a demonstration of his “superiority”;
which may, intellectually,
be a fact,
not because of his race
but because she is such a ditz,
no matter what her race is.
Sherrod had resigned.
Have yet to see anything on this.
Sherrod had resigned.
oops, found verification. Sorry about last post.
I don’t believe what the USDA said. She may have been reassigned, but I doubt she resigned.
A smart tort-law attorney would immediately advertise for every white farmer in GA who has ever had dealings with the USDA.
She's probably grown up listening to racists like Jeremiah Wright her whole life.
