How important they considered the press is apparent when is is recognized that they provided it equal protection to religion, freedom of speech, assembly and petition:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Arguments regarding bias in the press are rife. Conservatives are positive that the press is liberal (and most surveys agree), while liberals just know the press is conservative. Predispositions and visions color both group's assessments.
An email forwarded to me included the following discussion. The author is unknown, although I thought it put the arguments regarding bias, competence, etc. into better perspective than any formal analyses I have seen:
I think it is remarkable that within a week of Tiger Woods crashing his Escalade, the press found every woman with whom Tiger has had an affair. In the last few years, with photos, text messages, recorded phone calls, etc. And, they not only knew the cause of the family fight, but they even knew it was a wedge from his golf bag that his wife used to break out the windows in the Escalade. Not only that, they knew which wedge!
And each and every day, they gave America more updates on his sex-rehab stay, his wife's plans for divorce, and the dates and tournaments he will play in.
Obama has been in office for over a year now, and this same press:
· Still cannot find any of his childhood friends or neighbors,
· Or locate any of Obama's college papers or grades,
· Or how he paid for a Harvard education,
· Or which country issued his visa to travel to Pakistan in the 1980's,
· Or Barry Soretoro or even Michelle Obama's Princeton thesis on racism.
· They just can't seem to find them.
· Yet the public still trusts that same press to give them the whole truth !
Truly remarkable!

Sorta weird comparisons. I don’t know much about Tiger himself. Like what were his grades in college and high school. Come to think of it, I don’t know Sarah’s grades at her colleges either. I don’t know Tigers SAT scores.
I tell them he is the best president ever and I want to go to his birth place to see the holy sight, but I cant find it. I tell them I'm not a birther.
Im just hoping that some intern reading the comments starts to wonder what the hell is going on, and cracks the wall. It is amazing that all these journalists refuse to uncover the story of the century.
Tiger: “Im telling you dude, I have screwed more than 200 women.”
Abdalla Huissein: “Tiger, sit back and watch a master, Im going to screw 300 million people.”
Where are the conservative bloggers and press?
Duh. Pakistan issued the visa.

You obviously "don't get it."
We know plenty about the current resident of the WH: he’s a narcissistic, America-hating Muslim intent on destroying everything we’ve worked for for over 200 years; what more do we need to know?
Zer0 had sex with Tiger? Who knew?
ROTFLOLOLOL.
They were very good. By all accounts I've seen, he was an excellent student. He did get into Stanford, one of the few schools that doesn't offer athletic exemptions for their entrance eligibility. He spent two years at Stanford, and while I've never seen his transcripts, he never was placed on academic probation (that's public record per NCAA rules). And, I have heard him comment about how much the rigor of the Stanford academic regimen, made it difficult for him to sharpen his game. So, it sounds like he took his school work seriously.
Also, if you're an avid golf fan, you've read all kinds of interviews about Tiger spanning his entire life - from that very first performance on the Mike Douglas program when Tiger was three. Tiger formative years are understood. It was his life after joining the Tour that became somewhat enigmatic, as we all would later learned ad nauseam .
Good article & comparison of the media coverage between Tiger Woods and LACK of press scrutiny re. the background of our illustrious messiah-wanna-be 0b0z0, president usurper-in-crap.
Our press has done more damage to our republic than Osama Bin Laden ever dreamed of doing! It’s like we live in the old Soviet Russia now.
I do get it. I don’t give a crap about Tiger’s SAT scores just like I don’t give a crap about Obama’s SAT scores which is what the story was about.
bUMP. You got it.
