Film about Margaret Thatcher's life, which is expected to star Meryl Streep, shows the former prime minister as a dementia-sufferer looking back at her life with sadness.
Although the prospect of Meryl Streep playing Margaret Thatcher may have pleased some admirers of the Conservative former prime minister, her children have been horrified to discover more about the film.
Mandrake hears that the screenplay of The Iron Lady depicts Baroness Thatcher as an elderly dementia-sufferer looking back on her career with sadness. She is shown talking to herself and unaware that her husband, Sir Denis Thatcher, has died.
Sir Mark and Carol are appalled at what they have learnt about the film, says a friend of the family. They think it sounds like some Left-wing fantasy. They feel strongly about it, but will not speak publicly for fear of giving it more publicity."

Excerpt from Margaret Thatcher's life in the shadows by Geoffrey Levy in 2007..."Although her short-term memory is poor these days, her long-term memory remains in place. She is able to recall those troubled images of being dumped ? the ultimate proof, as Enoch Powell once said, that all political careers end in failure. Is her resentment over the way she was treated still there? 'I don't think you could ever get over what happened to her,' murmurs Lord Tebbit, who supported her against the putsch. 'It was very cruel.' Carol Thatcher, her journalist daughter, says: 'I know how strongly she felt for years afterwards about being betrayed. I don't think she got over it, but I think she's probably come to terms with it. It was awful. Treachery festers in your DNA.'"...."Carol says: 'She often talks about my father. She misses him all the time. There's a lovely portrait of him in her dining room ? and I've never had a meal in there when we haven't referred to him and talked about him. It's like he's always there."
In 2009, Comedian Jo Brand (under police investigation at the time) reported while in the Green Room post show, Carol Thatcher used a "golliwog" ('on the jam pot') joke, thought to have been describing a black tennis player, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Thatcher who refused to apologise was terminated by the BBC. Tory peer Lord Tebbit suggested the corporation was "taking revenge" on Thatcher's mother.
It is a liberal smear job movie by the left.
The left once again, taking cheap shots at brilliant people like Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan.
They must be so eaten up with jealousy...
MERYL “IT’S FOR THE CHILDREN /ALAR APPLES” STREEP OVER
EXCELLENT
BRITISH ACTRESSES ALL OF WHOM WOULD DO BETTER IN THE ROLE
OF LADY THATCHER. THE IRON LADY IS DUE ALL THE RESPECT
SHE’S RIGHTOUESLY EARNED.
SHE;S ONE OF THE GREAT ONE’S. TO HELL WITH THE UGLY, VICIOUS LEFT.
Does not matter as much anymore. A lot of people think DiCaprio, Russell Crowe and Matt Damon pull big box office and they do. If a film gets stamped with liberal propaganda - it dies at the box office.
Green Zone with Matt Damon. His lib rants have been hurting him more.
The spy flick with DiCaprio and Russell Crowe. Loads of other military films with a lib agenda.
DiCaprio was more enviro but he has been getting more lib. It is hurting.
Hollywood gets zero money from me unless the actors are usually Brit and are known to be non-libs with a non-lib plot. Or a foreign anti-communist film like the German film - The Lives of Others.
Hollywood can go to hell.
The word needs to go out to conservatives that this film is a hit piece on Thatcher.
When the word gets out - Liberal films die at the box office.
Thanks. That was a quick read, but I don’t want the Marxist to learn anything.
I just wanted him either impeached or voted out of office.
The youth have no idea who Margaret Thatcher is, the libs will see the movie because it will be a hatchet job and they love their liberal Meryl. The right will stay far away from it. It will bomb at the box office but Meryl will be nominated for an Academy Award and will most likely win.
Liberals are scum. They really are. If I really want to call someone a filthy name, I call them a Democrat.
yes. as usual.
>>> ‘I know how strongly she felt for years afterwards about being betrayed. I don’t think she got over it, but I think she’s probably come to terms with it. It was awful. Treachery festers in your DNA.’”
Rather melodramatic. The knife in the back is a feature built into the Parliamentary system, and she knew this well as a student of British political history. Without term limits as PM and with the quite human trait of reluctance to walk away from power, advancement in your own party regularly comes with Byzantine plotting and conspiracies. The strong tall oak must be cut down to allow the saplings the light.
Churchill had a better claim to be bitter, being allowed only half the time in office compared to Maggie.
>>> the screenplay of The Iron Lady depicts Baroness Thatcher as an elderly dementia-sufferer looking back on her career
As set forth, isn’t this something of an oxymoron anyway?
I truly hate Meryl Streep. I’ve always hated Meryl Streep. I’ve always known what a creepy, mousy little liberal worm she is. I even hate the name Meryl Streep, both parts—Meryl and Streep. She isn’t worthy of this role. What kind of malnourished soul must Meryl Streep have to spend her time and energy in an effort to defame the image of this twentieth century giant.
Although the prospect of Meryl Streep playing Margaret Thatcher may have pleased some admirers of the Conservative former prime minister
And who would these people be who are pleased that Streep is playing any role? Much less that of the Iron Lady.
The Left will never forgive:
1. Ronald Reagan
2. Margaret Thatcher
3. Pope John Paul II
for ending the Soviet Union.
I have never seen why Meryl Streep was considered such a great actress?
How about just telling the truth? This was one of the most brilliant minds of the 20th Century and she is being treated like Elwood P. Dowd. It is just sickening
If it’s fictional, it can be neither fair nor accurate.
