At a time when the prospects for immigration overhaul seem most dim, supporters have unleashed a secret weapon: a group of influential evangelical Christian leaders.
Normally on the opposite side of political issues backed by the Obama White House, these leaders are aligning with the president to support an overhaul that would include some path to legalization for illegal immigrants already here. They are preaching from pulpits, conducting conference calls with pastors and testifying in Washington — as they did last Wednesday.

Don't these "bible scholars" know how often the Lord refers to borders & their integrity? It's no wonder He said that if He didn't cut these days short, even the elect might be deceived.
No, He was arrested because the teachers and priests of the temple wanted him arrested for saying He was God’s Son, making Him equal with God. The Bible really is interesting.
As for illegals - God says not to oppress or mistreat the aliens, because the Jews were once aliens in Egypt. However - the Jews did not become Egyptians, and if one wants to convert to Judaism they can, but they were never told to allow anyone to call themselves a Jew unless they were 1. circumcised and 2. had to follow the whole law of God.
The churches that would easily make illegals citizens are advocating breaking the laws of the nation. Why am I not surprised.
My message to Rev. Rodriguez is if you're pro-illegal immigration, you are anti-American.

I’ve never understood how Black churches (for instance) or other liberal churches that are all about electing democrats and very little about God at all can keep their tax-exempt status. How the heck can Jeremiah Wright’s church be considered tax-exempt?

Too many religious leaders are looking for sheeple to add to their flock. If people would think independently and quit looking at someone to follow, we'd all be better off.

I feel as though I am living in some kind of alternate universe. We have a path to legal immigration. We have laws to deal with individuals who are here illegaly.
When pondering why the clergy would support any person breaking the law, I have to believe that there is some advantage to the clergy for that support. Pardon my skepticism, but these kinds of deals with the devil are usually a made on the basis of greed. I do not feel that the legitimate clergy would support illegal activity under the guise of any kind of “humane” argument.
Are we going to entrap another population of people with the “let me help you” straight into poverty and underacheivement line? I’ve always felt that if anyone owed raparations to black Americans, it was the people who smothered them with “programs” that took away the need to work and strive. Basically took away any chance to acheive and to experience the pride in that acheivement.
Now, we have the same scenario. For dollars, for votes a group of politicians and clergy are ready and willing to create another type of slave? They’re going to do it again? What a horror that we allow history to repeat itself and do not call out the kind of behavior that leads to this kind of dehumanization.
May God have little mercy on any clergy who participate in this.

Why don’t the Christians of America want to stand with the Christians in Mexico who went to the U.S. Embassy and told the truth about their real name, applied for a visa, paid $130, for each of their 6 kids, and having paid thousands of dollars were told they can’t go to the LAND of plenty. But those who lied, paid bribes, and left women and children in Mexico are rewarded? Would Jesus want this?

Revelation talks about two beasts who will serve the dragon (who is called Satan). The most prominent interpretation is that the first beast is false government and the second beast is false religion. In the end times the religious beast will force everyone to worship the political beast as they, together, serve the dragon.
To be able to buy and sell, a person will have to accept the mark of the beast (not sure which beast). The religious beast will be given authority to kill anybody who refuses to worship the political beast or accept the mark of the beast. Those who are left - the ones who have accepted the mark of the beast - will suffer terrible, terrible agonies at the hand of the beasts and dragon.
I think the corrupt political beast may be the world powers of communism and the corrupt religious beast may be the Islamists, and the religions that are more interested in being successful than in being faithful are the ones who will be led to bow to the political beast.
Of course, just about everybody has a different interpretation, but that’s what makes sense to me right now.
Funny how the majority of legal hispanics are in favor of Arizonas enforcement of existing federal law with regards to the illegal immigration issue.
