Would be first recent nominee to win approval with less than majority public support

PRINCETON, NJ -- More Americans want the Senate to vote for rather than against Elena Kagan's nomination to the Supreme Court, but the percentage in favor is less than a majority. Support for Kagan's confirmation remains essentially the same as it was before her June confirmation hearings.

Sorry. I don't believe it. Gallup likely polled more Dems than Indies and Pubbies combined. NO ONE wants a Marxist on our SCOTUS!

How can we the people support someone we know almost nothing about?

Kind of like that bill Pelousy said they had to pass to find out what's in it; Kagan has to be confirmed and seated on the SCOTUS before we'll know anything about her.....

The other 22% think the high court is an elevated basketball platform.

Well you are just a fount of happy news today, Nachum. Great to know the country wants the court to be more radically Marxist. ;)

Actually I’m with Buckeye on this one. There was also a survey done recently where the poll found that far more people think the court is already too liberal than too conservative. Gallop added some kind of special sauce to these numbers, and really ought to get the Research2000 treatment for it.

Using polls to manipulate opinion (by the polling firms and those that pay their bills) got old fast. Now it’s time for Breitbart to expose these frauds, and blow the lid off their little racket.

“Kagan who?” is not the same thing as “Kagan, sure.”

I have a hard time believing that 44% of the people polled actually knew who Kagan was.....

I think Kagan’s Body Mass Index will show she is way too fat to serve on the SCOTUS.

"NO ONE wants a Marxist on our SCOTUS! "

There are plenty of people who do: that is one of the greatest tragedies we are living through. An much, much greater number simply does not believe that she is a Marxist. Most Germans did not believe that Hitler was evil either.

Most of our fellow Americans don't even know what Marxism is and cannot recognize evil when they see it. It is about them that I worry most: they will field another Obama even if we defeat the present one. They produces FDR and Carter before him; no amount of socialism is enough for them.

Well, you “Americans” are going to get to get a taste of Kagan until you die, and then your descendants will get much more than you. Enjoy.

And this is justification for a bad decision, to let an Anti-Constitutional Activist on the court; what next she thinks therefore its law.

Seems they’re flailing about here to convince everyone she’s the people’s choice.

Whether or not this poll is skewed it shows you that this nation is screwed. Take this advise & get the hell outta here while you can. What’s happening now is the frog gradually being warmed in the cooker. So sad.
