Mod note:
AP changed the title:
BP, feds clash over reopening capped Gulf oil well
--------------------------------------
Both could be signs there are leaks in the well that's been capped off for three days.
The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday because an announcement about the next steps had not been made yet.

That’s at 100% containment pressure... start producing the freaking well and the pressure will drop and the leak will go away... finish the side drills and finish the damned job... criminy how many roadblocks how many absurd excuses and just how obvious is it that this Regime wants all efforts to contain this well to fail does the Public need?

Dumb question: Why not connect pipe to the well and relieve the pressure by allowing the oil rise to the surface and into waiting ships? Not a dumb question, it's a question lots of people are asking. There was a lot of discussion over the last few months about sand and other debris flowing up the pipe along with the oil and gasses. Lots of articles talked about the pipe integrity being continually degraded by that constant sand blast. I wonder if there are concerns about continuing pipe degradation and that is part of the reason they don't want flow through the well.

After all thats happened in the last 90 days, it`s unreal how many in here are still denying reality and believe that things are just fine.

This regime would be very foolish to mess around with our Gulf. They’ve demonstrated that they’re foolish beyond belief so I guess I don’t know what to expect.

Aren’t those other “CAPS” still sitting on the bottom... let’s just say (for s & g’s) that we move them over to the “seepage” spots produce 100% until the new side drill wells clamp this “AWESOME” well ... It is an Awesome find and should have 20 more holes drilled into it. Unless ZERO has already given it to China / Venezuela or Cuba

"They just cant let go of the propaganda gold mine that has been the busted oil well - which, incidentally has been fixed - lets find more problems with it."From the local channel five news report here in Mobile, Alabama:

Skandi Rov 2 just brought the leaking gas sample to the surface ship. Carried the gas collector the whole way. They need to test to see what is leaking now.

Why haven’t they called in Barney Frank on this? If you’ve got a problem as serious as “seepage,” I would think you’d want an expert on the subject.

think we are missing the big picture here. The Obama administration ordered BP to open the valves and pollute the gulf for 3 days so they can measure the flow for liability reasons. BP resisted so this anonymous story by Thad Allen is to justify reopening the pollution. Note he will not give any info about the supposed seeping, This is a maJor scandal in the making.Do you have solid corroboration? If so, Drudge needs this.
