AP changed the title:
BP, feds clash over reopening capped Gulf oil well
--------------------------------------
Both could be signs there are leaks in the well that's been capped off for three days.
The official spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Sunday because an announcement about the next steps had not been made yet.
Does that mean obamination will have to do a 180 and say “he” didn’t fix it the first time? Who’s fault will it be this time?
Time to head to TOD.
Pflr
good question.
seep happens.
That’s not the only thing we all know that has a seep. ..........OBAMA............
I am not a nuclear scientist nor do I play one, but common sense tells me the best course of action is to release the pressure by opening the valves that have been previously attached to hoses leading to ships above the well and drain it as quick as possible.
Nah too simple.
Obama had better quit worrying about the “racist” white people that are out to get him and get his butt down there and plug that damned hole!!
Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.
This news will absolutely be censored immediately, I bet even my comment will disappear, watch and listen people very well(no pun intended).
Obama will become more so the micro managing fool if there is another leak, he will have so much egg on his face bystanders cholesterol levels will be raised.
They need to hook up the piping to the surface and start recovering all the oil they can. Jed Clampett would have been tickled with a gusher like this.
Dumb question: Why not connect pipe to the well and relieve the pressure by allowing the oil rise to the surface and into waiting ships?
I don't consider that a reliable source either.
You probably don’t realize how unstable that well head is after taking a beating for 90 days. It’s best to work on the relief wells and begin the drilling of other well heads in this oil field to reduce pressure.
There’s a lot of natural seeps on the Gulf floor. Hope they’re not mistaking a natural event for a leak.
If for no other reason than to get more oil to sell — that’s the point of drilling in the first place.
I'd go one step farther. Taking a quote from an anonymous Federal official is just about the most unreliable source I can think of.....especially when it's crystal clear the gubmint is and has been doing all they can to prolong the spill and hinder both the clean up and the repairs to the well head. Sounds more like wishful thinking on the part of some gubmint bureaucrat to me....
I was hoping against hope, but this is not news. Its been there since early on, and it is way more than a seep most likely.
What I realize is that the oil that was gushing into the Gulf was free flowing, it is now bottled up and other seepage is taking place, precisely because it is being restricted and the pressure is building up.
Hoses can be attached unlike the previous cap, capturing close to 100% of the oil in a controlled manner and loading it on ships.
