Tea Party Federation kicks out Williams over blog post

CNN) -- The National Tea Party Federation, an organization that represents the Tea Party political movement around the country, has expelled conservative commentator Mark Williams and his Tea Party Express because of an inflammatory blog post he wrote, federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday.

Appearing on the CBS program "Face the Nation," Webb said that Williams and the Tea Party Express -- which has held a series of events across the country to generate support for the movement -- no longer were part of the National Tea Party Federation.

"We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express and Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation because of the letter that he wrote," Webb said of the blog post by Williams that satirized a fictional letter from what he called "Colored People" to President Abraham Lincoln.

Webb called the blog post "clearly offensive."

I think its better to point out the obvious defects of the left and how they use race for everything than to get back into what one dumb guy did.

There’s no need for what Mark Williams did, IMHO- it only adds to the perception that the Libs already have of Tea Party members as group.

I read your comment and shook my head in agreement, for a moment, until something didn't set right and told me to read it again. I did and the following " it only adds to the perception that the Libs already have of Tea Party members as group" jumped out at me as unacceptable. Is it the Tea Party Manifest to make nice and accommodate the Libs as NASA is the Muslims?

The Tea Party is diametrically opposed to the Liberal/Socialist caused damage to our republic. The Libs are the Tea Party's enemies and should be dealt with accordingly.

General Washington didn't defeat the British by having tea and crumpets with them and overwhelm them with his social graces. He defeated them by destroying them!!!

What have the Republicans accomplished by being apologists and playing nice and why have they been that way? The reason is that they are part of the same political crime syndicate and family custom prohibits any in-fighting, other than minor skirmishes to placate the sheeple.

Finally, the Tea Party is confronting the guilty, regardless of their current party affiliation and hopefully will continue to wrest the power away from these criminals and not apologize for it.

If there is a National Tea Party Federation, there shouldn't be!!! We are not nationally and formally ORGANIZED in that way. We show up and rally when there is a call to do that from whatever quarter it comes, and we recognize those calls. We are bright folks and know when we need to defend the truth and where to be to do that.

Once there is an ORGANIZATION you have created a TARGET. We are not targets we are Patriots.....

The person who made the statement regarding Mark Williams is Kelly Eustis - who was part of the TPX from Aug '08 - Oct '09. Kelly was the Political Director and E-Campaign Coordinator for the TPX.

That chart is as impossible to read here at FR as it is at the site you got it from

Eustis was using the TPX to gather information to start his own org which he did

He fell down on the job in the last few weeks he was with the TPX and has badmouthed TPX in various venues since then.

He's a smarmy little man.

Yea, people that are involved with tea parties are interconnected, so what? I'm always suspicious of people that like to describe things like this with icky sexual labels. Says a lot about this type of person that like to wallow in the muck.

You guys have brought out all this “dirt” before to do all you can to destroy the TPM, but it didn't work before and won't work now. Old news, find something constructive to do.

"There is NO NATIONAL GROUP."

What needs to be done is find out "Who" created the "Federation", "When" was it created, "Where" did the "Funds" come from to create it, and "How" did this guy become a spokesman for it!

Get those answers and you'll discover why an apologist is out there playing the "we're so guilty and we'll throw the bum out" game!

The "follow the money" approach DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK.

As everyone recalls there was this group called the National Association of Evangelicals. It hardly merited the description "association" ~ more like "lobbying office in DC" ~ a "service operation", not at all something providing leadership to hard core Protestant groups that'd signed up for it's membership.

Ted Haggard became the main guru of the NAE. He eventually fell out of favor due to his involvement with homosexuality and methamphetamine.

The NAE still exists, still provides brochures and phone numbers, and hardly constitutes a Protestant Vatican ~ which it never did even if Ted thought it was headed that way.

Something like the alleged "federation" in the new and booming "TEA Party" milieu probably has little more funding than modest annual dues from various TEA Party groups who want in on the brochures and maybe a piece of a lobbyist.

The greater part of the TEA Party operation is such that most of the funding, and expense, is generated by the local entities ~ rents paid for lecture halls, telephone bills, travel by local leaders, etc.

There's a cottage industry on the Left who want everybody to look at the Koch family as a major source of funding for the entire movement. Their theory is that local groups simply cannot and will not generate the funds necessary to set up a central office in DC so it takes some rich guy every single time ~ just like with the Democrats, particularly with their far leftwing affiliates who depended on checks from the USSR's politboro or dividends from Bernie Madoff's ponzi scheme!

Now the Koch family may or may not make contributions, but the way the TEA Party has been working it looks to be locally financed, and, to tell the truth, run on the cheap side ~ they ain't wastin' money!

It doesn't matter what we say or do, we have all the "public relations/media hype" against us because they have to demonize/marginalize all of us. . . thus right now we are racist. Next we will be some other equally "mean spirited" word.

Fortunately, people are waking up. I just wish they would learn a little faster.

Regardless, holding themselves out as a "Federation" indicates they have had to make filings somewhere to identify their officers , bylaws, assets and formation information.

Just start pulling the threads and see where it leads and eventually it will all come to light. With situation, it appears to be something the democrats or, yes, even the RNC would pull to take over the movement.

Look what's happening already ....... they're (MSM) identifying this Webb guy as a leader of the Tea Party movement.

Newt-(RINO, globalist, adulterer) is BFFL with Christina Botteri of the phony federation.

So the plot thickens now, doesn’t it?

That chart is not readable!

There is an article in three parts at that site.

TPX: Sal Russo, The Tea Party Express & Corrupt Intentions (Part 1 of 3)

TPX: Sal Russo, The Tea Party Express & Corrupt Intentions (Part 2 of 3)

TPX: Sal Russo, The Tea Party Express & Corrupt Intentions (Part 3 of 3)

These talk about the PAC, Our Country Deserves Better PAC, the Tea Party Express and some others and the connections to their organizers who apparently are making money out of the organizations, not necessarily a bad thing as the loaded titles suggest.

There are FEC filings on the Organizations, Sample , so they are making their filings as they should. The real problem they have is that their "Official Spokesman" made a meatheaded attempt at satire that aids the critics and will cause dissension in the movement.

I’m not trying to defend this federation, or that that federation... Quite honestly, I never even heard of this group or Williams until this.

My point is simply, if they are going to call us racists when we haven’t done anything to justify that slander, why do something that you know they are immediately going to deem “offensive” and then use to run crying to the MSM and bludgeon you with it? It’s just falling into the trap that they set- had the racists in the NAACP not come up with this phony resolution we wouldn’t even be talking about any of this.

Who are you referring to when when you say "you guys"? The chart I posted is from someone who has been doing a great deal of research on the various Tea Parties in the US. He specifically focused on the TPX since they had such a huge influence on our US Senate race here in Nevada.

This also has nothing to do with the Tea Party movement - it is specific to the TPX. In a five month period in '09 - two-thirds of money that came into the organization went right into the pockets of Russo, Marsh and Rogers. All you have to look at is the July - November 2009 FEC report to see the tangled web of finances.

I am a conservative and have been for years and years. This is not bringing up "dirt" - this is exposing facts that some refuse to look at with an open mind. I have attended many Tea Party gatherings and believe 100% in what it originally stood for. Making our voices heard in this sea of liberal muck.

Just because something says "tea party" doesn't mean they are above board.

There are also reports from those who once traveled with the TPX that the "real Mark Willams is not the man he presents to the public. .

Yep. There's a reason the man got fired from his radio gig in Sacramento.

I didn't like him then and I don't like him now. He's an a$$.

Yeah, okay you have a valid point. I should have written “Indies” instead of Libs. The Libs will say their BS no matter what; the Indies who still haven’t woken up are what I meant in retrospect- the ones that still think Sharron Angle is this scary “extremist”, but incompetent buffoon Harry Reid is just fine and dandy.

The Reid machine is already slobbering all over these idiotic comments. The LSM can't wait to demand Ms. Angle denounce TPX.

Time for Williams to say he is sorry and vanish.

Can y'all just stop giving these liberal whores ammo.
