CNN) -- The National Tea Party Federation, an organization that represents the Tea Party political movement around the country, has expelled conservative commentator Mark Williams and his Tea Party Express because of an inflammatory blog post he wrote, federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday.
Appearing on the CBS program "Face the Nation," Webb said that Williams and the Tea Party Express -- which has held a series of events across the country to generate support for the movement -- no longer were part of the National Tea Party Federation.
"We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express and Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation because of the letter that he wrote," Webb said of the blog post by Williams that satirized a fictional letter from what he called "Colored People" to President Abraham Lincoln.
Webb called the blog post "clearly offensive."

“I thought it was funny too. They need to get a life and get over this PC sh*t.”
These Idiots need yelled at and embarrassed they are NAACP Shills and worthless.
“Newt Gingrich says Tea Parties should hold town hall meetings with the NAACP to find common ground. Will the Tea Party Federation take Newts advice?”
Not one of Newt’s better ideas.
This was a VERY stupid move.
“Now its time...for the NAACP to return the favor and to expel the racist members of its ranks... “
Never happen—in fact black racists are given awards or appointments to government agencies.
What a good pick to use CBS. /sarcasm
Yup, good riddance.
The TPX is an organization that is trying to hijack the Tea Party movement. They believe they can do anything that they want as they are on of the largest Tea Party groups. There are also reports from those who once traveled with the TPX that the "real Mark Willams is not the man he presents to the public. . .I'm not going to dignify your pack of lies with a response.
Until you identify as "those who once traveled with the TPX" and anything they said that has any facts involved with it.
I think you will find those people are liars and the ones that are trying to milk the TPM for all it is worth.
You don't know what you are talking about but have no problem buying the leftist spin and the rantings of a couple of disgruntled ex TPX'ers.
I don’t know who the National Tea Party Federation is but they sure don’t represent me. This sounds like shades of Dick Armey and other neocons.
Thanks for the info.
Hopefully 8/28 will be larger than the gathering of 9/12.
When I say “Tea Party Leaders” - I mean the people who coordinate the rallies, speakers and whoever is the spokesman on behalf of each indidual tea party group
All the more reason not to let ANYONE represent your views. Represent them yourself.
He's been close to producing an idiot eruption for months, and finally just couldn't hold back. It was inevitable.
“Dear Mr. Lincoln,” began the fictional letter posted by Williams. “We Coloreds have taken a vote and decided that we don’t cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!”
Sometimes the voices in ones’ head gain control over the mind. It’s an ugly thing to witness.
I just get fed up with people who want to be self proclaimed leaders. Nobody voted for them as leaders. They are, as you say, no more than coordinators or speakers or attendees at tea parties. We, individuals, do not need to be led. We, individuals, are leading.

"Dear Mr. Lincoln
We Coloreds have taken a vote and decided that we dont cotton to that whole emancipation thing. Freedom means having to work for real, think for ourselves, and take consequences along with the rewards. That is just far too much to ask of us Colored People and we demand that it stop!
In fact we held a big meeting and took a vote in Kansas City this week. We voted to condemn a political revival of that old abolitionist spirit called the tea party movement.
The tea party position to end the bailouts for example is just silly. Bailouts are just big money welfare and isnt that what we want all Coloreds to strive for? What kind of racist would want to end big money welfare? What they need to do is start handing the bail outs directly to us coloreds! Of course, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is the only responsible party that should be granted the right to disperse the funds.
And the ridiculous idea of reduce[ing] the size and intrusiveness of government. What kind of massa would ever not want to control my life? As Coloreds we must have somebody care for us otherwise we would be on our own, have to think for ourselves and make decisions!
The racist tea parties also demand that the government stop the out of control spending. Again, they directly target coloreds. That means we Coloreds would have to compete for jobs like everybody else and that is just not right.
Perhaps the most racist point of all in the tea parties is their demand that government stop raising our taxes. That is outrageous! How will we coloreds ever get a wide screen TV in every room if non-coloreds get to keep what they earn? Totally racist! The tea party expects coloreds to be productive members of society?
Mr. Lincoln, you were the greatest racist ever. We had a great gig. Three squares, room and board, all our decisions made by the massa in the house. Please repeal the 13th and 14th Amendments and let us get back to where we belong.
Sincerely
Precious Ben Jealous, Toms Nephew NAACP Head Colored Person"
I guess he intended some cute satire here, but this is so over the the line it would not survive as a Free Republic Vanity post. Mark Williams picked the worst possible time to get cute, especially as a leader of one Tea Party organization.
“National Tea Party Federation” = left wing front group or cowards. This is exactly what Always Wrong Joe Biden has been praying for. The Tea Party is a movement not an organization or a “federation”. I guess it’s time for more active, unorganized TEA Parties leading up to the Election. What counts is Turn out not Turn off.
If every racist member left the NAACP, they could hold their national convention in a phone booth.
In my opinion the Federation would have better advanced their interests by defending the piece as satire, if poorly written. Defend and not give an inch - Americans are allowed to write bad satire, are we not? Then never trust that idiot SOB to speak for the organization again, and privately ask him to step aside and let more circumspect leadership take over.
If every racist member left the NAACP, they could hold their national convention in a phone booth.
