CNN) -- The National Tea Party Federation, an organization that represents the Tea Party political movement around the country, has expelled conservative commentator Mark Williams and his Tea Party Express because of an inflammatory blog post he wrote, federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday.
Appearing on the CBS program "Face the Nation," Webb said that Williams and the Tea Party Express -- which has held a series of events across the country to generate support for the movement -- no longer were part of the National Tea Party Federation.
"We, in the last 24 hours, have expelled Tea Party Express and Mark Williams from the National Tea Party Federation because of the letter that he wrote," Webb said of the blog post by Williams that satirized a fictional letter from what he called "Colored People" to President Abraham Lincoln.
Webb called the blog post "clearly offensive."

National Tea Party Federation ???
Never heard of them, again.
That’s what he gets for trying to state non-PC FACTS!!! So now the Tea Party movement is able to “expel” members because they are not sufficiently politically correct??!!
Nope. They just caved.
There will be no "credit" for the purge. Only a demand for more and more.
If you think the NAACP had a serious moral objection, you're smoking bad weed. They were assigned this little gig by their enablers in the Criminal Party. It's a coordinated attack, using a time tested bomb.
Only fools let it go off and destroy them.
OK so just who is this National Tea Party Federation?? I know about Tea Party Express
Never heard of them. I pledge them no fidelity and they don't speak for me.
Well played! Is the interview on YouTube someplace? I’d love to see it.
One factor that I have heard discussed a little bit, but would like to hear more of, is the Disruptor Factor in any Tea Party gathering. It’s easy to assume that the leftist racists believe anything really objectionable must necessarily come from the right; I can’t dismiss the possibility that they are leftist plants.
The political reality is, when it comes to race, Republicans and Democrats are held to a different standard. Pretending otherwise will continue to cause setbacks to conservative causes.
And jackasses like this guy are not helpful.
I heard the interview on the local CBS station this morning. Benjamin Jealous kept alive the myth that Dick Armey is the “grandfather” of the Tea Party movement. He must have conveniently forgotten about Rick Santelli.
REG:
Listen. If you really wanted to join the P.F.J. N.T.P.F, you'd have to really hate the Romans. tax-and-spend Obama liberals
BRIAN:
I do!
REG:
Oh, yeah? How much?
BRIAN:
A lot!
REG:
Right. You're in. Listen. The only people we hate more than the Romans Obama are the f***ing Judean People's Front. Tea Party Express.
P.J.F. N.T.P.F:
Yeah...
JUDITH:
Splitters.
P.J.F. N.T.P.F:
Splitters...
FRANCIS:
And the Judean Popular People's Front. [substitute the next Tea Party group to be disowned]
C'mon folks, let's keep this together until we're rid of Obama, or have veto-proof majorities in both houses of Congress.
The word “racism” is white man’s Kryptonite. No group, however just their cause, can stand against it. The utterance of the word “racism” will turn even the strongest opponent into a cringing lackey.
Even here on FR. Look at the posting guidelines. Every post on FR has to pass NAACP muster. Just ask certain uncomfortable questions or post certain uncomfortable facts and watch the fun as your fellow Freepers pile on and the Banhammer comes down. It doesn’t matter if you’re a racist or not. FR can survive without me or you, but it can’t survive being called “racist” on TV.
Racism used to be defined as “bigotry or hatred based upon race”. In 2010, racism is “anything a given non-white person doesn’t like”.
“I cant dismiss the possibility that they are leftist plants.”
That should be a presumption, until the opposite is demonstrated.
Last night Geraldo’s Fox show did a rountable discuss of racism in the Tea Parties and black civil rights groups. Mark Williams of Tea Party Express and Matt Kibbe of Freedom Works (Dick Armey’s group) were briefly sniping over which of their groups truly spoke for the Tea Party movement. With the success of the Tea Party movement, I fear various groups like Freedom Works, Tea Party Patriots, Tea Party Nation, Tea Party Express, etc will be bad mouthing each other for the right to claim the Tea Party mvoement for themselves.
Amen to that. I heard of the Tea Party concept from Rick Santelli and he is the de facto “Non charter” founder of the Tea Party.
Who are these arrogant pricks Tea Party Federation??? Never heard of these idiots til’ today.
Just posted a note to David Webb via teaparty365.org/contact-us to voice my displeasure of his buffoonish tv appearance.
Perhaps a few more notes might change his self-aggrandizing ways....
Jealous is a politico, everyone sees this, even his slacker followers.
He jus spiks pretty. Lik 0.
I believe that Mark Williams was patently foolish to post that ‘letter to President Lincoln’ that intentionally demeaned ‘colored’ people - but it should have been ignored. Making a big show about ‘expelling’ Williams, as other posters have stated, just gives the ‘racist’ smear a handle and encourages the enemies of the Tea party to keep using it. At this juncture name-calling is all the left can do, so they do it, incessantly, hoping the smear will stick enough to render the Tea Party ineffective because the majority population buy the ‘racist’ label the left has tried to smear it with. This incident should be ignored because it was an aberration. Mark Williams’ parody of Black people is not who the Tea Party folks really are. Let’s stop being put on the defensive.
Who do these self appointed morons think they are?
