Jessica, 18, is a newly arrived illegal immigrant from Monterrey, Mexico. And based on anecdotal evidence and statewide statistics, she is far from alone.
Mexican nationals appear to be entering Oklahoma illegally as steadily as ever for work, family and sanctuary from a violent homeland.
Clutching fake documents, Jessica crossed the border checkpoints undetected. She reunited with her father who had been living in Oklahoma illegally for years. Today she attends an Oklahoma City high school and dreams of becoming a teacher.
Violence in Mexico has skyrocketed since December 2006, when President Felipe Calderon deployed federal police to battle warring drug cartels on the border. The Mexican government estimates the death toll at more than 22,700.
"People are trying to flee the violence, said Michael Brooks-Jimenez, an Oklahoma City attorney whose services are sought by Mexican immigrants. "Every week I have families come to me, asking if there is a way they can legally obtain asylum for an uncle or a sibling who owns a business and is being threatened with extortion or death.
"Sadly, I tell them all the same thing. There's nothing we can do.

Things are tough all over. This woman is in America ILLEGALLY. She has no right to be here. Period! So are we supposed to feel sorry for her?
Reconquista shock troops at Phoenix Capital protest, May 29, 2010.
Why didn't Calderon whine about all of that when he addressed Congress?
Guess he knew he would not get a standing ovation (/snix).
I dream of her being caught, tried for a felony (theft from the US in goods, services, etc.), and either imprisoned or forcibly deported to the farthest reaches of South America. That's what I dream of.
Yeah! I’m sure Oklahomans are willing to trade their future for a good Taco or Enchilada....for sure....
Let that sink in for a minute.
That's nearly 1/2 the number of American soldiers killed in the Vietnam war...

Free ride and free lunch drives illegal immigrants from Mexico to Oklahoma.
Exactly! Their situation is playing like an old movie where the village peasants are being terrorized by evil bandits they won't defend themselves from.
Seven Samurai, Magnificent Seven, High Plains Drifter, Tombstone, Three Amigos, etc.
But, but, the border is as secure as it ever has been, maybe more so.
I know because my socialist overseers tell me so.

If there is any extra money to be spent on public health in OK, it will go to the Indians, I guaran-damn-tee it. And it will more than likely be the Indians who will, in the end, drive the illegals out of OK.
Great big `ol YEP.
Folks in Oklahoma have a very short fuse on this. I saw a little old lady checker in the Poetau WallyWorld stare a hole in two illegals when they could not speak any English at her checkout register. They finally walked off, minus their attempted purchases.
I stepped up and she smiled sweetly and was the perfect lady.
.
Can anyone explain to me HOW the hell were they able to reach Oklahoma?
Oh my!
You're right, and that would explain his indifference to what is going on to the south.
Good analogy. The pace of killing is the same; these figures are for four years (since 2006) and the VN War lasted eight.
Mexico has a smaller population, so the death rate is actually higher.
The real problem in Mexico is that the corruption goes to the top. They don't have a J. Edgar Hoover or a Guiliani to close them down.
Our problem also goes to the top (Dodd/Frank/Obama).
It's just that it doesn't include a body count.

Miguel Banuelrs is arguably as connected to his community as anyone. He owns a meat market, bakery and money wire service at NW 29 Street and Western Avenue in south Oklahoma City, an area saturated in Hispanic culture.

Personally, I think you’re a troll. You insult people, but don’t answer questions, just repeat yourself. Have a nice day, and consider yourself on “IGNORE”
LOL...
Folks like you need to grow a thicker hide, and face up to reality.
