Not so surprising. Carville's wife is Mary Matlin, a conservative, who was among the group which accompanied Rush on his trip to Afghanistan several years ago.

My suspicion is that a lot of so called ‘conflict’ is just a political soap opera put on for our entertainment, and not for real political change,
Rush was at James' wedding, if you saw the footage of the little march from the church to the reception, you would have seen Rush at the head of the line with Mary next to him. No big deal, nothing to have red flags over.

I think Rush’s taste in personal friends has more to do with how interesting they are including whether they smoke cigars, and not their politics.
