Actually of all of the prospective candidates, including ones I support, Gingrich is the most fearsome debator. I don’t even have the problem a lot of FReepers have with him on some issues. I just think his history with his personal life has him DOA.

Gingrich was absolutely and irrevocably savaged by the Clinton War Room in the 90s. He’s damaged goods among most moderates and independents.

I absolutely agree that he’d clean Obama’s clock in any debate, but a large number of swing voters are already so prejudiced against him that I don’t think they’d even hear what Gingrich has to say.

In spite of his talent, I believe you are correct. For him to run as a "conservative party" candidate would send the hypocrisy meter to the red line.

Palin is the only one courageous enough to accuse Obama of what he is really doing, applying the theories of Marx by means of the methods of Alinsky and the Chicago mob, and she will do it in terms that the average person can understand and know to be true.

He may have a problem getting the GOP nomination. But consider the following: Newt can produce a birth certificate, there are no pictures of Newt smoking a joint, he did not confess in a book to cocaine use, he has no close friendships or history with rich muslims, radical preachers and race thugs, Newt’s history is an open book. I bet we can see transcripts and find college friends who know him. All of that would seem to make a divorce and remarriage small potatoes.

I am not really a Newt fan after all of that. But compared to a communist who is incompetent he should compete well.

Quite succinct and right on point.

I hope you’re not talking about that bogus BS about him asking his cancer-ridden wife for a divorce while she was in the hospital. That was a total lefty fabrication.

Yep, he is our best spokesman today, although Paul Ryan is getting better, just needs some more years on him. I too fear that Newt's baggage is just to heavy a burden.
