NEW ORLEANS BP says oil has stopped leaking into the Gulf for the first time since April.

Being a brownsfan, I wouldn't believe my momma. Zero is in control of everything that is put to the public. But don't believe me.
No longer news can we mooooove on.
It she blows through the ocean floor clean, will be much worse then before. The old BOP had partially closed so there was some restriction on flow. If we get a clean crack and tunnel pathway to the ocean floor, will be a non-restricted gusher. Also possible that the oil is just traveling up into the loose ocean floor sediment. Means it could come up in a much broader area. If that occurs you may not see the dense concentrated flow that you saw coming out of the pipe. That means that dispersant’s will be useless.
Says alot. None of it good.
ADMIRAL ALLEN: Not necessarily, what we're going to do is we're going to test for 48 hours, and every six hours, we're going to evaluate all of the information we have available. At the end of 48 hours, we're going to take down the system, go back to containment, or production, as you say, and then we're going to get a new seismic reading off the floor that will tell us as a result of that testing at high pressure for 48 hours, was there a change in the well bore, or did we have oil leak into the formation and form a pocket just to be a precursor for breaching the ocean floor? Is there methane gas coming up, which would be a precursor as well.
Once we are satisfied that there are no indications that we've compromised the integrity of the wellbore, we create an irreversible position of oil leaving the well bore, we can go back then and put theput the system under pressure again. Then once we'reonce we're convinced, we've got no pressure in the well bore, and it can withstand the pressure after another seismic run, after that 48 hours, we can certainly consider shutting in the well, that's always a possibility, and of course, we would like to do that.
Nope. They are made in the USA. As with most things, they use parts from all over, including China.
It is fixed? Who woulda thought nobama scuba-ing down and fixing it would have worked. All praise nobama!!!!! The “man” no limits on his perfection.

Nope. We are in a state of limbo as usual. The pressure maximum they got during this pressure test run, as reported on the Oil Drum, was just enough to keep the pressure test going, but not enough to give them confidence that they can shut in the well permanently from the top. They may have to run another seismic test after they stop this test and then possibly a second pressure test. We appear to have partial internal leakage due to the pressure coming in 1,000 to 2,000 psi short. All speculation at this point.
BP, I TOTALLY salute you! GREAT engineering solution!
Neither referring to the tests, just what I had time to read. Had a busy day.
“The question I have is what is next Comrade will do....”
Naturally, he will have to take over BP just to be sure it doesn’t happen again!/s;)
“Saw this, we down here sure are glad.”
What are your thoughts of the Corexit in the waters?
You have no idea how much I hope that this works.
God bless and be with the Gulf states...and I hope BP will be “with” them, too.
“Obama still banned offshore drilling in Gulf...and cut navy contracts,.. he and the media have destroyed all the jobs here.”
Well, I think some new jobs are coming. I just heard a TV report about 27,000 shut down wells in the Gulf, and Congress is calling to have them checked for leaks. Lots of potential jobs there. In June 2006 I drove the Hurricane Coast from Tampa to New Orleans, taking photos and talking with people. Stopped at a small shipbuilding yard after I crossed into Louisiana. The were building some fairly large metal ships and explained that they had several orders. These ships were to be used to inspect the post hurricane repairs on drill rigs, and ferry people and supplies back out to work there. There were about 25 cars in the parking lot. Only business there.
>>I’m not the only one who feels deep and abiding disgust with Shepard Smith? His blathering today must set some sort of stupidity quotient record.
Anyone here who saw his histrionics during Katrina likely has that same disgust. I know I do. He is completely unwatchable.
A friend and gulf coast native now living in Seattle WA called yesterday to talk about the oil and gripe about BP. She actually said that "0bama really stayed tough on them!". I knew she was a lib and life long dem. ::sigh:: She went on to tell me that her sister told her the oil isn't really messing up the beaches too much. ARG!
I'm so tired of people living hundreds of miles away telling ME what is happening down here. The day the oil 'made landfall' I (and the local media) was in Gulf Shores and saw the activity...only to be told by a family member in Texas that "it's been there 3 days, duh" Uh, no.
Anyway... starting to breath easier here, as easy as one can with a gulf full of oil and who knows what in the air, lol.
Get the well stopped could care less of what is used, deal with that later I reckon.
