A California girl who had been missing for almost seven years was found Wednesday by police in Phoenix, Arizona, authorities said.
The girl had just turned a year old when she was abducted in September 2003.
She had been in the care of foster parents in Norwalk, California, when she was snatched by three of her aunts, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County sheriff's Norwalk Station said.

Police say three biological aunts all juveniles at the time abducted her when she was less than a year old, during a “noncustodial visitation” at a Norwalk, Calif., restaurant.
LA County Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Evans says the girl apparently wasn’t related to the Phoenix family she was living with. The investigation is ongoing.
Those crazy old... no, make that young, aunts!
Probably sold at a Wal-Mart parking lot for 25 bucks.
I thought she had been kidnapped by illegals. They tend to be the biggest criminals in the south west.

I thought she had been kidnapped by illegals. They tend to be the biggest criminals in the south west.Where did it say her "aunts" or her new step mom weren't/aren't illegal?

The 7-year-old girl’s name and birthdate had been changed. She was born Amber Nicklas. She was in good health, but had been withheld from school.
There is no relation between her original family and the family she was living with in Phoenix.
The child was turned over to CPS and returned to California.
Los Angeles authorities will be responsible for bringing charges.
agree with you...and needed the laugh!
Some of the best speculatin’ and ‘splaining is done right here!
We don't know because the AZ police aren't allowed to ask until SB1070 goes into effect later this year.
