TOLEDO, OH (WTVG) -- A never-before-seen police dash cam video was shown in court today in the trial of an Ottawa Hills police officer accused of unnecessarily shooting and paralyzing a man during a traffic stop.

I drive through Ottawa Hills every day, and I am scared to death doing so.
I am old enough to remember when the cops weren't scary.
That was a scary dash cam video. But that is par for the course these days. Police have been conditioned to think that every contact with a citizen may be their last, therefore its kill or be killed.
And they wonder why more and more people are begining to view them as the enemy.
Badge-lappers on deck in 3... 2... 1...
Jury got it right.
This kinda explains why there has been no video from the Nevada Costco incident.
Rule of thumb: If the video shows cops breaking the law you will not see it until after the trial....
We left Toledo in 75. We always avoided Ottawa Hills as the police were ALWAYS scary. Their own little fiefdom right in the middle of Toledo.
When you think of what cops have become in this country just grab yourself a copy of THX 1138 and watch it. The sci-fi people saw this come many years ago.
Yeah, I don't see how you could watch that video and come to any other conclusion.
You know, I bought that movie from a bargain bin at Best Buy. I watched about 15 minutes, got bored, and never came back to it. Sounds like I may want to give it a second look and stick it out.
Just remember, the guy was a bad biker. And there were extenuating circumstances. And the cop was perfect until this night. And everybody makes honest mistakes. And the vast majority of stops DON’T end like this. /Sarcasm off.
Wish I hadn't seen it.
I don’t think the cop should have shot ‘till he knew “beyond a reasonable doubt” that the cyclist had a gun pointed at him. /s
A term that's beneath you.
There is a certain variety of police officer who interprets disrespect as capital offense.
I could never be a police officer because if I arrested a rapist or a child abuser I could probably not be trusted to transport the perpetrator from point A to point B in one piece.
But there are some police officers who seem not to care at all what they are arresting someone for - if a rapist obeys them and keeps his mouth shut they will treat him gingerly, while if someone is arrested for shoplifting and mouths off to them he may not make it through the night.
I sense that psychology of malignant narcissism at work in this case.
It is a rather boring movie but when you see the robot cops tasing people with their cattle prods, children taking drugs like what we today with Ritalin and similar meds, and how tyranny is imposed in a soft, politically correct form you see today.
Police now are somehow justified in shooting someone, anyone, if they think the “suspect” just might be thinking about pointing a gun at a cop if he could get a gun.

This cop is guilty as all hell. Do they have the DP there? Do they use it?
Not that I believe the cop deserves death, but what if the victim had died?
You can watch the whole thing on YouTube.
