Why am I not surprised?
I would be surprised, only because he produced a series on Showtime called Linc’s that actually starred Steven Williams as a black conservative who owned a bar in DC. They were very fair with their political discussions, just amazingly so.
I suppose anything’s possible though.
Personal opinion: there were a few “Taxi” episodes that could have challenged WKRP... But the Turkey Drop was a classic.
Good TV days I think maybe over.

And Gary Sandy played Andy Travis on WKRP (the only sane one).
Find myself watching all those old sitcoms which I missed during my busy years: i.e. Golden Girls, Cheers, Becker and of course, Andy Griffith & the Beaver. Seinfeld = timeless.
The only good one today is The Office.
Sitting here laughing hysterically just thinking about it! He DID have cocaine on his foot, the corrupt DJ told him it was foot powder, and Carlson innocently dumped it in his shoes. When his feet went numb and the truth about the coke (and the DJ) came out, he panicked. "Help me Andy, I'm hooked, I've got a monkey on my foot!" remains one of my favorite scenes. Gordon Jump was an unsung genius at physical comedy.

Tim Reid, founder of New Millennium Studios in Virginia and better known as Venus Fly Trap on WKRP in Cincinnati, seemed to appreciate the point of my question when I asked about nurturing Virginia filmmakers.
I think there is much more to be gained in growing a Virginia film industry than attracting flybys from California.
Still, we’re in the game now, and that’s more than we’ve ever been before.
And to all my film/arts/acting friends, Democrats Mark Warner and Tim Kaine never did so much as say hello to you. Republican Bob McDonnell gave your industry the tax incentives that Marky Mark and Timmy! never could . . .
My favorite is the one that had the cop on to show how drinking ruined your reflexes and the more Johnny drank the better he got at the test.

Reid's Legacy Media Institute is being funded by a combination of support by the Virginia State University's Department of Mass Communication, the Cameron Foundation and the Virginia Film Office.
That show is still one of the funniest on TV. Also like Barney Miller and watch the reruns of that....its not at all dated and from the 70’s I think...
