The Capping Stack is in place but the oil is still flowing through the Capping Stack.
There are a lot on hydraulic lines and other connections to be made before they can test pressures and such.
If you are watching Fox News the idiot Shep has no idea what he is saying!!! He has said the oil is stopped and it is not stopped yet!

The Obamination will be holding a press conference tomorrow stating that He capped the hole. Yes, Daddy plugged the hole.

As I understand it it’s not capped... They can now just capture all the leakage.

Again?
Is this the final cap?
Or the final final cap?
Or will there be a final, final, final cap?

Hmmm, when I read the title of this thread, I thought the well had been capped, as in stopped. But that is not the case. The cap has been installed but the oil is still flowing through it. It will be another couple of days before we know whether this new cap can stop the flow.

The new CAP is in place but it is still leaking as a out of control gusher. On top of the cap is a long tube or pipe and there are large holes in various locations going along the pipe. Oil and methane still leaking from those holes. Just verified that about 10 minutes ago via ROV2 Ocean Intervention III. Not capped yet. New cap in place with venting holes in the top support or collection pipe. Gonna do various tests before they try closing this wild well down. And even when closed down, no guarantee that the increased pressures wont blow something in the damaged BOP or cause problems further down in the Wild Well bore. This new cap is not a permanent solution. And if they blow out the lower wellhead or the BOP, will be completely out of control again.

The leak sure slowed down a lot.

The well casing is still cracked and there is no way to repair it. They will test the pressure by progressively closing off the cap until they detect seepage from the surrounding Gulf floor. Then they’ll know what they are looking at with respect to the relief well and if there is any potential to top kill and seal it off permanently. That’s all the so called relief well is, a way to get more mud into the bore

Good old MSM’s reporting no flow, getting it wrong as usual. There’s flow through the intentionally punctured riser a little higher on the stack. That’ll be shut down later. Maybe they’re going for three stories for the price of one. First, the success story, then the “serious problems” story when somebody finally looks up the stack a little, then finally the “overcomes initial problems” story when the sequence that was planned in the first place is finally completed.
