WASHINGTON Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts says he will support a sweeping financial regulatory bill, moving the bill closer to the 60 votes it needs to ultimately win final approval.
Brown joins Sen. Susan Collins of Maine as two crucial Republican votes for the legislation.
Democratic leaders were still looking to secure the 60 votes needed to overcome procedural hurdles. They were awaiting word from Republican Sens. Olympia Snowe of Maine and Charles Grassley of Iowa, who supported an earlier Senate version.
Brown won concessions in the bill and said Monday that the legislation "is a better bill than it was when this whole process started."
if we make ‘em an offer do you think the Canadians will still take New England off our hands?
They all get corrupt when they get in there and make 92K and get on the take side money.
So how much money will be spent on field mice and Pelosi’s facelift?
Get -all- but MAYBE a handful voted out.AND THEN I WOKE UP!
This is a time in which a strong Minority Leader would make the difference. I wonder if McConnell is even mentally alert enough to be aware this is happening.
Anybody that supports abortion rights in any way shape or form is filth, so really no surprise here at all.
I can hardly wait for January. It will be nice to get the hell out of here and just LIVE.
Freepers that donated to this POS should call his office today.
Mccain light........
Well, Brown looks good, speaks well and dresses nicely, but underneath it all resides the brain of another liberal chump. Bob
He’s on WRKO now explaining his vote. He thinks it ends the bailout mentality. No, only a Republican Congress will do that.
Well put. Last month when he and his family were photographed at the WH bbq, the word ‘whore’ was stamped into his forehead. Notice how he got elected though? He put himself out there like a Joe the Plumber type; driving his pickup; stating that he was ‘driving’ his pickup to DC and using all the buzz words. Lord, I feel for the people in MASS but truly, with these senators, their constituency is the entire Nation....problem being, only their states can vote them in or defeat them and then, we’re all stuck.
Scott Brown is one of the luckier people in political history. He won the election purely because of timing and the fact that everyone thought he would the 41st vote and end the health care bill.
In a normal year without the health care situation he wouldn’t have come close. If health care had already passed he wouldn’t have come close. If the dems had say 55 votes and his vote meant nothing he wouldn’t have come close.
It was really the perfect storm for him. He’ll likely vote for Kagan as well.
I had high hopes for him when he rode in on his truck. I wonder if the rest of the repubs in Mass. are RINOS as well?
This email was widely circulated—and may have turned Scott.
“Dear Senator Brown:
I write to urge you to support the Financial Reform Bill.
“Many of us here in Massachusetts have been hurt financially—and emotionally—by Wall Street predators. It is time to curb these abuses.
“Banks must take responsibilty for their mistakes—we can not have us taxpayers bailing out banks ever again. They must pay into a fund that covers their malfeasance—and encourage them to police themselves. We need strong consumer protection.
“I am a “small” Republican investor. But us small Republicans want to have Government on our side, for once.
“Please support the Financial Reform Bill.
“Thank you,”
Scott Brown adjusts his political calculations every day. This day he is in favor of small Republicans, tomorrow to favor the big guys for campaign contributions.
Pretty much so, that’s why my tagline says “Vote Jill Stein for governor”. She’s the Rainbow/Green Party candidate for governor here in MA. The GOP candidate is an uber-liberal, the current Rat gov. is an uber-liberal, I figure if you’re going to crash the ship into the iceberg, do it at maximum speed at this point.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! They wouldn’t.

Well ....
We have extreme liberal socialist from very conservative states voting for this bill also. So were is the out rage at North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Indiana, West Virgina, many southern states, Colorado, Nevada, and on and on.
As soon as we quite going after these worthless RINO’s from liberal states and concentrate on real conservative states we can remove enough liberals and replace them with real conservatives and have a super majority of conservatives in the senate.
But instead of liberal hunting we love to shoot these RINO’s, I just do not get it.
