Gibbs Says GOP Has Shot at Winning House This Fall

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs suggested Sunday that Republicans could take control of the House in the November elections.

“People are going to have a choice to make in the fall,” Gibbs said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” Click here to learn more!Click to learn more!Click here to learn more!

Gibbs stated that “there’s no doubt there’s enough seats in play” to allow “Republicans to take control” in the 112th Congress.

“The fact that the Obama White House is acknowledging that there is even a possibility that Democrats could lose their majority in the House should be read as a tacit admission that their economic policies have failed in the eyes of the voters,” Ken Spain, communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said in a statement Sunday afternoon.

Gibbs also said that Democrats would play up the possibility of House Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) becoming Speaker and Rep. Joe L. Barton (R-Texas) becoming the chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee as a strategy for rallying voters against a GOP takeover this fall.

I’ve already seen liberal FB “friends” swear off liberalism and the Democrats because of Obama. It’s a sweet thing to behold.

Given what a mess liberals are in the process of creating, they need a new scapegoat for BamBamKennedy to campaign against over the next two years. And the GOP seems forever prepared to fit the role as liberals scapegoat. I heard someone on CNN earlier this evening squawking that is what is being said in private circles around WDC, ...it would not be a bad thing for BamBam’s reelection prospects to have the GOP in charge of the House.

Gee, they pulled out “GOP takeover.” Haven’t heard that since 1994, when the press refused to state how many seats the GOP won.

How is Barack O-Blame-a trying to combat this?

He is blaming the Republicans. He is Blaming Bush. He is blaming the economy for being worse than he thought it was. He is blaming big business for not kowtowing to him. He is blaming Fox News for reporting negative things about him. He is blaming, blaming, blaming....

What’s the angle here? Obama never admits defeat or potential feat without some end in mind.

A GOP run house might be able to roll back some of the recent (and former) spending but, will it be willing to listen t it’s employers?

I've noticed that a lot of people who were critical of Bush back in 2008 are not too pleased with how it's turned out. We tried to warn them!

Yep. My sister and Brother in Law. Full blown Crats for life have abandoned them. Even they are seeing Obama for what he really is.
Obama supporters get all nervous if you talk to them about Socialism being a proven failure.

“...Boehner as Speaker, ugh. Only slightly less worse than Pelosi...”

You are so wrong.

No, Charles Manson is slightly less worse than Pelosi. Boehner is mediocre, which makes him much better than Stretch.

It will backfire if the Pubbies do this.Every Republican running in November should feature this graph in their ads. Make this election about Pelosi/Reid the way Obama made the last one about Bush.:

I agree with that and if Repubs are lucky enough to win Congress back, I imagine we will be stuck with Boehner. He is so easy to mock, with his watery eyes and orange skin. This is a shallow country - fixated on the Lindsay Lohans of this world, so, yes, I do wish that the Repubs had someone less mockable to put forward for Speaker. The man has “used car salesman” written all over him.
