It's interesting to try to divine the chicken-and-egg of Mel Gibson's firing by WME last week: Was it his (first-alleged, now aurally proved) misogynistic and racist comments that enabled the agency to part ways with him, or was it the death of longtime agent Ed Limato that did the trick?
Earlier today the news surfaced that William Morris Endeavor had split with Gibson last week-- as Limato lay seriously ill, and just several days after Radar Online broke the news that Gibson had verbally abused his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva by using the N-word. (The reports were just that until today, when audio of the Gibson incident was released on Radar.)
There's of course a third variable in all this -- the fact that Gibson just wasn't much of a bankable star anymore anyway.

Are you saying that no one here has defended Mel Gibson?
True. Dumping his wife of many years, shacking up with a bimbo young enough to be his daughter, going off drunk into profanity-laced tirades, and generally acting like an out-of-control idiot does not demonstrate any kind of Christian influence in his life. We all stray, like sheep, and perhaps Mel has just wandered far off the path. His "Passion" movie was incredible, and was one of the most important films made in recent memory. But since then, he has not walked the walk or even talked the talk. Restoration is available if he will seek it with humility, but even then it will take quite a while before his credibility is restored.
Race
--------------
White 38.8%
Black 37.2
Considering that they are 14% to 18% of the population, that proves conservatives point.
From Heritage. org
Black and white Americans differ dramatically in marriage patterns and welfare dependence. In 1999, 68.8 percent of black American children were born out of wedlock. By contrast, the out-of-wedlock birth rate for white Americans was 26.7 percent.3
Similarly, black children were five times more likely to be dependent on welfare from the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) program4 than white children.
Since single parenthood and welfare dependence are the primary factors producing child poverty in the United States, any meaningful strategy to reduce the disparities in black and white child poverty must focus on increasing marriage and reducing welfare dependence among blacks.
With that, I can only assume that those who disagree with me do not believe that slavery was a mistake.
We know you're a liberal because you obviously drank too much bong water and you are biased against the United States. You should hang with Michelle Obama. Just like you, she's never been proud of the United States.
Many of the people you've insulted on this thead are military veterens who've served in deployment zones bringing freedom to other nations.
So please, stop molesting farm animals.
That would be a poor assumption. If your only point on this thread was to say that slavery was a mistake, then it's a good thing you didn't have Lincoln's ear during the civil war. Your powers of faulty logic and jumbled reasoning would have been enough to get Lincoln to start his own slave-powered plantation.
I am also curious what you meant in post 155 when you suggested that America still needs to pay.
That is NOT what you said!
Im not quite sure America has paid for the mistake of slavery, but even if it has paid for that mistake, it does not minimize that mistake or absolve America of slavery and placing African Americans in scientific experiments.
//military veterans//
I am one of them 2/1 Cav unit 2nd Armor Division FORSCOM.
No, America cannot absolve itself from its violation of the Laws of God and the crimes against humanity from the days of slavery.
It is simply a mistake that we must never forget.
Oh don't worry. Race baiters like you will never let history BE history.
Btw, where in the Bible does Jesus speak out against slavery?
I don’t believe you. I know you simply realized you were getting your not American ass kicked and decided to come back today after interest in the thread died down so you could try to redefine the issues.
Well it didn’t work boy as all you have done is to continue to make a fool of your racist liberal self.
You have failed. Your brethren Alinsky and Obama are very disappointed in you.
You might not be considered a POS in the crap hole where you were actually born but you are definitely a lying commie POS racist by American standards. Perhaps you should grab your liberal playbook and head back to where you belong boy.
Ever read Leviticus? You would do well to read God's law before preaching it.
Although God does not like slavery, he set up rules and regulations dealing with such abominations because the Israelites were a "stiff necked" people.
The first "slaves" in the colonies were indentured bond servants, such as Benjamin Franklin. Perhaps we should find his descendants and pay them reparations.
His credibility may never be restored.
We can obtain God’s forgiveness, but we have to live with the consequences of our actions and our words.
Still, I hope he does turn back to God, and I hope that he does make an effort to live rightly, and to restore his credibility.
Two things, first then why should we continue to try and make amends and second the vast majority of America thinks you are wrong. Most of us feel that if we haven't done too much we have certainly done enough.
I never owned a slave and I refuse to be punished for it.
Something else that is clear is that you don't care about this issue. All you care about doing is slamming America. You neither belong or deserve to live in America.
“Two things, first then why should we continue to try and make amends and second the vast majority of America thinks you are wrong.”
Do you really believe that the majority of Americans do not believe that America was wrong to hold human being in slavery?
“You neither belong or deserve to live in America.”
Why, that is an interesting view that somehow I as an American Citizen do not deserve to live in America.
Come and get me then!
You: Do you really believe that the majority of Americans do not believe that America was wrong to hold human being in slavery?
You continue to try to reframe the debate by distorting what you have said and what others say. How very trollish.
While you are so willing to condemn those who sold people into slavery in Africa, you seem to be unwilling to condemn those in America who bought and sold slaves, put them in chains and held them in slavery for two hundred years.
Why are you unwilling to condemn those who owned slaves in America?
Clearly you cannot read English. Go reread what I wrote and if needed get a translator who is English proficient to read it to you. If this is still not enough get a 10 year old to put it into words that even you can understand.
You are not going to change the focus of the issue. I know your liberal playbook says to do this but you would have to be smarted than me to do so and that will never happen.
Come and get me then!
Give me your address boy.
Focus boy, focus. No redefining the issue.
You still have a lot of posts up thread waiting on you too 'lil feller.
“Give me your address boy.”
I’m just down the road from you in West Austin.
To get to me all you need to do to get to my home from where you stay is to head North on Telephone Road, and then head west on 610 South and then go north on 610 West until you get to I-10 where you will go west until you get to 71 and you can follow 71 all the way to Austin where you will hit Loop 1 where you will head north and exit on Windsor Road.
