Hatch calls Kagan filibuster 'dirty thing to do'

By Eric Zimmermann - 07/01/10 12:19 PM ET

A Republican filibuster of Elena Kagan would be "an unheard of, dirty thing to do," Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) said Thursday.

Hatch, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told ABC News's "Topline" today that his party won't prevent an up-or-down vote on Obama's SCOTUS nominee.

"Republicans aren't going to filibuster her," he said.

"Everyone gets questions."

So you are seriously going to compare the questions that radical socialist Kagan got with the questions Bork and Thomas got?

Seriously?

You don't see any difference in the treatment of Conservatives by the likes of Ted Kennedy and the treatment of Kagan by the likes of O. Ron Hatch?

Allowing Kagan to be on the supreme court for the next 30- 40 years, would be a dirty thing to do to Americans and freedom.

I was too young to even know who Bork or Thomas was. I did not see there confirmation hearings and certainly did not have an interest at the time. If they were on today of course I would watch them and would be disgusted as you all were.

Paul Ryan rocks. Haven’t seen brains in DC for a century.

Out of all the mess we have witnessed these past few years, Paul Ryan is one of the few bright spots. I enjoy listening to Sara Palin, however Mr. Ryan makes her look like a rookie. I wish he would announce his intentions to run for President. During the healthcare debate he seemed to be the only guy that the rats couldn’t answer. He was sharp!

As for Orrin its a shame he wants to be a gentleman, while our Country is being destroyed. Perhaps the should be replaced asap, as he has no will for the fight that is ahead of us. Senile pathetic old man.

You are correct my friend. We are raising a crop of metro-sexual males in the country now. Watch any sit-com on TV, males are portrayed as bumbling idiots, women as smart and assertive.

Not trying to be a chauvinist but there is a difference between males and females. A million plus years of evolution has programmed males differently and now they are being emasculated. Very unnatural and counter productive.
