ObamaCare: Dream Turned Nightmare

Health Reform: Key provisions of the president's health care reform are about to take effect. Don't expect any of it to be pretty.

It turns out that — as predicted by health experts, and reported on this page — ObamaCare will make health insurance premiums rise rather than fall. This and other unpleasant truths are revealed in a new report from two Republican senators, which charges that "when measured against the administration's own stated goals, the new health law fails to address the top health care concerns of the American people."

Tom Coburn of Oklahoma and John Barrasso of Wyoming are the only two members of the U.S. Senate with M.D.s, and their prognosis in the report, titled "Bad Medicine: a Check-up on the New Federal Health Law," is far from good.

"Independent experts have found that the new health law will increase the cost of health insurance and health care services," the two doctor-senators say, noting the Congressional Budget Office concludes that "premiums for millions of American families in 2016 will be 10%-13% higher than they otherwise would be. This represents a $2,100 increase per family, compared with the status quo."

Two thousand dollars more? Did something hidden in the 3,000 pages of the ObamaCare bill, which the White House and leading congressional Democrats moved heaven and earth to get passed, make those evil health insurers even greedier?

The only place Obamacare would make sense is at Disneyland.

Obama’s DeathCare reminds me of Nazi Germany and the elimination of select segments of the population. The coming genocide of the elderly and disabled by Obama/Pelosi/Reid’s Death Panels will usher in evil like this country has never seen. Count on it.

And because of his strong roots in Islam, the Jews of this country should be wary as well.

Blue Cross has already jacked my premiums by 33% because of my 'birthday'. Birthday my @ss. Stashing money to pay for the future under Pelozi's nightmare is more like it. I am not going to be able to pay for it much longer, but of course that is the plan. Get your commie boot off of my neck.

I despise the parisitical morons in DC. Leeches. Lying, blood sucking vampires.

Seriously - outside of faith, how are you supposed to hope for the future under this regime? What will your reward for hard work be?

The sole goal of Obamacare is to drive private enterprise out of the health insurance business so the government will be “forced” to become the insurer of last resort. It’s very well designed for its purpose.

This is the “find out what’s in it” stage Pelosi spoke of when she said we had to pass it so we could find out what’s in it.

You just sort of recalibrate your hope include a future where we’re freed of this infestation.

Obama grew up on something far left of the Disney Channel.

Oops...mistake! He didn't grow up...he is still breastfeeding on the same pap! And offering us a chance to suck on that teat!

Thx Lil Barky, but no...grow some big round ones and enter the grownup world!

Obama ran for President on a promising us a $2500 health care cost reduction. Can we impeach him now?

It’s easy to dismiss a report by 2 Republican senators as being a partisan hatchet job - just as it’s easy to dismiss the cheers of Unions (once they got themselves exempted) as partisan and self-serving. Sadly, once this monstrosity fully kicks in everyone will see for themselves what everyone who isn’t a brainwashed Obamist was talking about.

Last I saw, something in the range of 60% of the public want the healthcare bill repealed, and they haven’t even felt it’s impact yet. This number will only rise. Even those idiots who support Obama just because he’s a democrat or solely because he’s a member of their particular ethnic group will have to admit it’s a nightmare in the making.

In a legal challenge, the ONLY thing the Obama administration can cling to is really sketchy whining about the Commerce Clause, and I just don’t see any way that will be a convincing argument. If we’re lucky, it might even trigger a review of power-grabs Congress has committed in the past with only the thinnest of references to any actual power granted by the Constitution.

Serious question. Why is this thing not in front of SCOTUS yet being decided on??

Exactly right! I am a physician and have been reviewing the Plan. There’s no question that healthcare will “crash and burn” within about 6 years and will need rescue, by - you guessed it - the Federal Government.

The Feds will sub-out most of the administration of the single-payer system to very large companies, perhaps on a regional basis. The Feds will call the shots, the companies will take their “cut” and both will blame the doctors and hospitals for the inevitable rationing of care. When this day comes, we will all cease to be “citizens” of the USA. We will instead by “subjects” - dependent on the largesse of the Federal Government for our health and well-being.

And remember: if you are “unproductive” in the eyes of the government, costing them more in healthcare costs and social security than you “contribute”, you are better off dead, “for the benefit of all”.

Good observation. And they’re the ones slated to be paying for his various “stimuli” and czarist actions for decades to come.
