At least they may perceive this as dirt. I think his remarks were OK.
This sounds exactly like the kind of guy we need in Afghanistan right now. Nice move, Obama...even a broken, communist, wanna-be, president is right once in a four year term....
Appropriate action was taken 5 years ago - that would have been under that other politically correct numbskull Bush.
I want soldiers and generals who LIKE to kill the enemy. THAT is their job.
I don’t want a general or soldiers who want to AVOID killing them.
There are too many politically correct idiots running around the halls of Congress and the Oval Office, each release worse than the last year’s version.
They should play those remarks against the woman in Iran who is about to be stoned to death.
He’s got my vote.
Anybody here think Patton didn’t like killing Nazis?
I heard this here feller talkin’ ‘bout how much he hated all the crackers. He said if you wanted freedom to kill them. And maybe kill their babies. The outrage from the media is, uh, not describable. That’s ‘cause for it to be describable, there has to be some first.
“No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. “
George S. Patton
Don’t the quote marks in the title imply a direct, word-for-word quote, or to the single quotations imply a paraphrase?
Even so, it’s a poor paraphrase.
I find this appalling! A Marine Corps commander should be aware of his "public face," and never say something like this!
It should be "... guys like that DON'T have ANY manhood left .." and "It's a HECK of a lot of fun to shoot THEM."
This is my rifle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my rifle is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless. I must fire my rifle true. I must shoot straighter than my enemy, who is trying to kill me. I must shoot him before he shoots me. I will. Before God I swear this creed: my rifle and myself are defenders of my country, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace. Amen.
Works for me!
“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won’t”.
Nice to see a man who enjoys his work. Pity the weenies can't handle that.
“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.” - One of the rules Maj. Gen. James Mattis gave his Marines to live by in Iraq
Here's the speech from the opening scene of Patton, with George C. Scott:
* (The real speech was made by Patton to the Third Army, on June 5, 1944, the eve of D-Day. For the motion picture it was moved to the beginning of the film, out of historical-chronological sequence.)
I want you to remember that no bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor, dumb bastard die for his country. Men, all this stuff you've heard about America not wanting to fight, wanting to stay out of the war is a lot of horse dung. Americans, traditionally, love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. When you were kids you all admired the champion marble shooter, the fastest runner, big league ball player, the toughest boxer. Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for a man who lost and laughed. That's why Americans have never lost and will never lose a war, because the very thought of losing is hateful to Americans. Now, an army is a team. It lives, eats, sleeps, fights as a team. This individuality stuff is a bunch of crap. The bilious bastards who wrote that stuff about individuality for the Saturday Evening Post don't know anything more about real battle than they do about fornicating. Now, we have the finest food, equipment, the best spirit, and the best men in the world. You know, by God I, I actually pity those poor bastards we're going up against, by God, I do. We're not just going to shoot the bastards; we're going to cut out their living guts and use them to grease the treads of our tanks. We're going to murder those lousy Hun bastards by the bushel. Now, some of you boys, I know, are wondering whether or not you'll chicken out under fire. Don't worry about it. I can assure you that you will all do your duty. The Nazis are the enemy. Wade into them. Spill their blood. Shoot them in the belly. When you put your hand into a bunch of goo that a moment before was your best friend's face, you'll know what to do. Now there's another thing I want you to remember: I don't want to get any messages saying that we are holding our position. We're not holding anything. Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy. We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're going to kick him in the ass. We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose. Now, there's one thing that you men will be able to say when you get back home. And you may thank God for it. Thirty years from now when youre sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee, and he asks you: "What did you do in the great World War II?" You won't have to say, "Well, I shoveled shit in Louisiana." Alright, now you sons-of-bitches, you know how I feel. Oh... I will be proud to lead you wonderful guys into battle anytime, anywhere. That's all.
Patton also said:
"May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I sure as hell won't."
Shabazz says kill cracka babies...not a peep.
