Kim Jong-il Has at Most Three Years to Live: Special Clinic at Guard Command Concludes
Mood swings worsened due to depression
He says, "I am not what I used to be," showing tears
He had to have 30 minute intermission while watching a comedy "Echo"(1 hr 40 min long)
More frequent watching of art performance in recent days is for psychological treatment
According to information we obtained on Jul 7 from high-level source in N. Korea, Special Clinic" under No. 1 Bureau at N. Korea's Guard Command conducted a comprehensive check-up on Kim Jong-il's health and concluded that he has at most three years of natural life. It was the conclusion derived from evaluating his deteriorating health marked by kidney dialysis and chronic laryngitis since his stroke in August 2008.
On top of his deteriorating physical health, he suffers from depression, leading to worsening mood swing. He himself admits from time to time, "I am not what I used to be, and seen frequently shedding tears.
More frequent watching of art performances in recent days is actually not part of on-site inspection but a measure to treat his depression and keep his mood stable.

I suppose a prognosis of less than three years would be fatal to the doctor. An estimate of three years allows enough slack for him to make it 5 or perhaps 10 more.
The fact the topic was publicly raised means to me he is on death’s door step. Let’s say September or November at the latest for the event

Mood swings worsened due to depression. This might cause very dangerous situations unless his “advisors” remove him from the decision loop. But it could be worse, he could be bipolar, in that case we have to “duck and cover”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixy5FBLnh7o

If his health seriously deteriorates but he refuse to loosen his grip on power, it will create holy mess inside regime's leadership. I doubt that he will go quietly. He know how being lame-duck feels like. He turned his dad into lame duck toward the end of his dad's life. At least his dad was venerated universally in N. Korea as demi-god. However, he is in much worse situation. Many hate him.
I think he divided up power into two groups: one led by Jang Sung-taek, his brother-in-law, and the other one led by O Kuk-ryol, the most loyal general who commands crack special forces and has control over military. The latter has a veto power on what Jang would do. He has the means to physically eradicate Jang faction, if things go south for Kim Dynasty. Jang will try to coopt him. Won't be easy, though.
There would be other less powerful freelancing factions. Kim Jong-il was the only link which tied them all. It was set up that way by design. As Kim is dying out, it will get dicey. Kim steadily losing his marble over some period of time(not sudden death,) would create real unpredictability.

If God could knock Saul off his high horse, blind him temporarily, and turn him into the great ST. PAUL, I suppose anything is possible when a man is down like that. Kim Jong il is a horrendous murderer; wouldnt that be something if he sincerely sought, and had a true conversion. I am tempted to joke along with everyone here a bit when I read such a report like this, but I also know that this man must be going to sleep at night, and waking up with somebody he does not really like--himself. What an empty, desolate shell of a life, with nothing truly to show for it, no perceivable good, after 60 or so some years. I supposed if he turned to Christianity in the depths of his weakness and horrid sin, those around him would not countenance it and would remove him from the scene, big time.
Actually, I had read somewhere that Kim Jong il did as a kid experience some connection with Christians, and at least has some philosophical understanding of it (a religion his regime terribly persecutes). Wouldnt that be something.
Unless and until then, it is a bit unsettling that this man has the capability and will to launch Scud after Scud, Nodong after Nodong, and/or order a crude nuclear device set off somewhere in the West via suitcase method, just to be ornery and go out with a "blast". ;-(
