BP Dumping Oil Waste in Mississippi Landfill Despite Objections of County Leaders
WLOX TV - Biloxi ^ | July 8, 2010 | WLOX TV

Despite literally MILLIONS of ideas being floated by private citizens, non-profit groups, and foreign countries on how to clean up and contain the BP Deepwater Horizon oil disaster, BP decided they would rather fill American landfills with their mess. BP refuses to even consider ideas on how to handle the situation, many of which have been proven to be effective and successful. Harrison County leaders do not approve but BP is still dumping in local landfills and local residents and officials are preparing subpoenas demanding BP appear before their Harrison County Board of Supervisors.

OK I think I’ve got it now. I’m not allowed to put an empty used oil filter in the trash, but BP can bury trash bags full of oil refuse in landfills against local authorities wishes. Got it. And the A-Whale isn’t good enough because .01 percent of oil is not removed from the discharge water. Got it. Up is down, black is white, Got it

Granted, I’m watching from the left coast, but am hearing from people in MS.

I’ll give you an opinion...this entire catastrophe is criminal.

The power of the people has been relegated to 12 gauge. It will soon be time to unleash it.

What specifically is being placed into landfills, and how much? Keep in mind that if someone uses a paper towel to wipe an oil streak off their hand, it is considered ‘oiled refuse’.

With the scrutiny in that region the likelihood of skim vessels off-loading right to the landfill, as the author would lead one to believe, are slim to none.

How do you dump liquids in a landfill? They aren’t made for dumping liquids, but solids.

Reason has long left the country. It seems.

You believe incorrectly. There is a major media and public clamp-down on what is really happening. I know Connie Rocko personally. If she says it's happening, it's happening.

I didn't say anything relating to my beliefs or views. I just saw nothing here on which to draw a conclusion, and I don't mean that in any way against your friend.

If there were damaged/worn booms, cover-alls, etc I can see that going into a landfill- where else would it go? The only thing shown going to a landfill in that video were two dump trucks, which can't haul liquids, and could have come from anywhere.
