Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is in trouble with many in his party after speaking out against the war in Afghanistan. Some are even calling for him to be removed.

Let Sarah decide Steele’s replacement when the position becomes available! Let Sarah decide Steele’s replacement when the position becomes available!

Hardy Har Har!

Boy have you got that right!

I don’t think the other side is scared of her. Yes they hate her.

But if they could pick any candidte to run against it would be her.

Yea, right!

They are trembling in their boots of Sarah because they know that she will unite the GOP like no other candidate since Reagan in spite of their best efforts to tear her down.

I don't know what you been paying attention to lately, but their actions most assuredly show a primal fear of the potential of Sarah Palin.

I'm afraid you've seriously misread the left vs Sarah Palin. Your situational awareness could really use some updating, my friend.

There's just too much water under the bridge for me to recap the last 24 months for you, but the bottom line is that Sarah Palin is the left's worst nightmare. She's the last person they want to face in the 2012 presidential election.

Proof of this can be found in the sustained and unrelenting attacks against her from every quarter on the left. She sustains more flak and direct hits per day than any other nationally known Republican politician does in a whole year. That flak is directed at her because she is the biggest threat to the Democrat left's very survival. She will undo them, and they know this down to their bones.

I hpoe that one day they are scared of her. But first she will have to be taken serously and will have to reach independents, Blue Dogs and Reagan Democrats.

I'm sure that you say that in all sincerity, but again, you've really got to come up to speed on where the country is at, socio-politically, and exactly what Sarah Palin's place in this resurgence is. Sarah is reaching all of the groups you named, with the possible exception of the "Blue Dog Democrats", which don't actually exist.

A good starting place to come up to speed on Sarah is her book, "Going Rogue". Read that, and you will understand that this is a person of real historical significance. Don't allow the other side to trick you into underestimating her. It's exactly what they want us to do, and so far, it sounds as though you've bought their anti-Palin line.

Sarah will never be President, but has the opportunity to get the process of electing the next Republican President in order. She should grab on and run with this job.

People said the same sorry crap about Reagan before he won the presidency in a landslide. You underestimate Sarah as much as the liberals do, it appears.

Question- is she a good leader? Can she command the respect of our enemies and the democrats?

Not a very good measure of what a leader is or you really don't understand the nature of today's Democrat.

The Democrats will not accept any conservative as a leader.

The Democrats, are mostly a lost cause. It's the Independents that will win the day for Sarah.

Can she go up against Katie Curic and hold her own?

Can she rise to the level of a foreign policy expert? Or at least to the point where she talks so intelligently about a topic that people who don’t agree with her could be persuaded?

Have you been paying attention at all for the last year?

No other GOP politician even comes close to her in fighting in a very vocal, intelligent and aggressive way, on a daily basis, against the Obama agenda, no one!

You sound just like the left-wing press.

They are trembling in their boots of Sarah because they know that she will unite the GOP like no other candidate since Reagan in spite of their best efforts to tear her down.

As I was telling earlJam, Sarah Palin is a political figure of real historical significance. A person of her caliber rises amongst us only rarely, and usually in the hour of our greatest need.

That some do not see this is a testament to the fact that they are either, A) a leftard Obot, B) abysmally unaware of current events, or, C) someone on the center-right who is covertly attempting to undermine support for Sarah in order to further the standing of some other potential Republican candidate for president.

At Free Republic, there are only two of the above types who post on these threads.

Don’t hyperventilate.

I agree she has historical significance. I agree that she is a talented and valuable part of our team.

But that does not mean I want her to be the quarterback in the Superbowl.

She has a long way to go before she may be ready. And her best position may NOT even be quarterback.

You will know she’s ready when she is ready for in depth discussions on important issues- and people listen.

The newsman who reported this rumor is the real story here. Palin will never chair the RNC. Let’s have a look under the hood.

Bill Plante, the White House Correspondent who is spreading this gossipy wishful thinking, is mentioned on page 252 as a “longtime Reagan Basher”, who did a six minute piece just before the PA primary in 1980 that highlighted a series of Reagan “gaffes”, ending with him speculating on Reagan’s intelligence:

“Does it really matter? To some, it’s a sign that Reagan isn’t smart enough for the job.”

Shirley also outs him as a rumormonger at the convention trying to promote the “rumor” of a Reagan-Ford ticket.

This old fossil Plante is going to be out spreading the same “stuff” on Palin. The difference is that no one is listening this time.

Thanks for the reminder on Bill Plante, BC. That book is a treasure trove of info like that.

Sadly, there are some on this very website who relish every smarmy slander on Governor Palin.

Fortunately, they're a small minority, just as they are in the voting public.

You can repeat that Democrat talking point all you want, but it doesn't comport with reality. Sarah Palin is as ready to discuss important issues in depth with the best of them, and has consistently proven that since the end of the 2008 campaign.

You're simply not listening, because you've already got your mind made up about her. Fair enough. You choose to shut your eyes and ears, that's your business. As for myself and countless others, she's earned our support.

This would certainly kill two democrats with one stone.

Palin can raise some money.

It will send the democrats’ blood pressure through the roof!

Okey, dokey.

BTW, she doesn’t need your support to win the presidency.

She needs the support of at least half of the GOP and much of the independents.

And I would be interested in having you post the transcript of the in-depth foreign policy discussion.

No, you wouldn't. Stop pretending to be interested in any of her accomplishments, her standing among the voters, or her positions on foreign policy.

With two clicks, you could find all of the information you're demanding of me. You could have done so months ago, if you were genuinely interested in her positions. If you're even a casual reader at FR, then you've seen tons of articles detailing her positions on a multitude of issues. You're not even faintly interested, so let's drop the charade, shall we?

Bottom line - you either support some other potential candidate for the Republican nomination, or you're an agent-provocateur. Why don't you just 'fes up and tell us what your real agenda is?

In other words there is no in depth INTERVIEW.

Only speeches to Tea Parties or solo Facebook posts?

Like I said, post some in depth interviews especially with people who don’t agree with her.

If she can’t handle an interview with perky Katie how can she handle korea’s Kim or iran,s Achmedenojad (or however you spell his name)?

If she can’t handle an interview with perky Katie....

Throwing out that debunked, retread lie is a sure sign that you're either a plant, or someone who only reads the funnies.

Either way, you've just put your foot in it, as far as FR is concerned. Thanks for outing yourself.
