LACKLAND AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- A be-on-the-lookout alert issued last month for 17 Afghan military men who walked away from an Air Force base in Texas has turned out to be just the tip of the iceberg. No fewer than 46 members of the Afghan military have gone absent without leave from the Defense Language Institute’s English Language Center at Lackland Air Force Base in recent years, FoxNews.com has learned.
From a series of interviews with civilians and military personnel conducted over the course of a week, and according to documents obtained from a variety of sources, FoxNews.com has learned that five of these Afghan deserters remain at large; eight are in custody; at least 18 are in Canada and one has been granted conditional U.S. residency. The most recent to disappear fled the Texas base just last Thursday, hours after his graduation ceremony.

Why is our money being used to teach them English in our country?

Hint: I’d look in the parking lot of the CVS next door to the Kabob Palace in Crystal City, just south of the Pentagon. I think half of Afghanistan and their taxis are there on any given weekday.
They were brought here at our expense to help our soldiers win this war on their behalf, and help them rebuild their own nation. If we have an operational need for them to support our troops, then they are putting our soldiers at risk by not returning for duty.
However, I do not believe that all of them are seeking a better life. I believe their allegiance is to Allah and they are a risk to our nation.
I think we are speaking of so called military people, men of Honor. These deserter are not of that type and neither are politicans. The air force needs to account for them and remove them from the country are someone needs to lose a lot of rank.
You may be speaking of military matters.
I am only speaking to the possibility that these Afghan, non-Americans may have simply decided that returning to the war is less appealing than disappearing into the American dream.(a subsequent post has made a similar point)..
