Congressional Republicans are issuing stinging rebukes of President Obamas decision to sue the State of Arizona for enforcing the law. A sampling from the leadership and the two Arizona senators.
Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following statement Tuesday regarding the lawsuit filed against Arizona by the federal government:
Suing the people of Arizona for attempting to do a job the federal government has utterly failed to execute will not help secure our borders. If the President wants to make real progress on this issue, he can do so by taking amnesty off the table and focus his efforts on border and interior security.
It is long past time for this administration to prioritize solving a crisis over imposing an agenda and the first step is to recognize that attorneys and amnesty are not acceptable alternatives to border security and job creation.
House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement today following the Obama Administrations decision to sue the state of Arizona for enforcing its immigration laws:
The violence on Americas border is out of control, and the federal government isn't doing its job. The people of Arizona have a right to enforce their own laws, especially if the federal government is failing to live up to its responsibilities. The federal government shouldnt be suing Arizona it should be helping Arizona, and other states, to stop the crime and lawlessness along the border.
States have a right and a responsibility to ensure order and the safety of their citizens

A winning issue here, Republicans. Don’t screw the pooch.
This is treason.
He needs slamming. In fact in needs to be put out of office.
Urkle’s theory that immigration is strictly a federal issue may be correct but local police powers remain with the states. Thus, there should be plenty of authority for states to address this problem. Plus, the fedgov could be sued for not enforcing the laws already on the books. So this could become a nice little p!ssing match.
That’s two Republicans out of how many. They should all be standing shoulder to shoulder in a press conference objecting to the suit filed against Arizona.
I did not see that press conference. Anyone else see it?
waiting for Lindsey Graham to up and say something stupid ......
The DOJ suing Arizona is simply a diversion from the ongoing destruction of the Gulf of Mexico.
Especially with mid-terms around the corner
Krauthammer was surprised the lawsuit wasn’t about civil rights. I am too. I thought that was everyone was so up in arms over.
You know they will!
And Christian Adam’s testimony TODAY.
That too.
Yep, afraid so.
Only if his lips move ... ;-)
Our economy is going down the crapper and the administration only cares about letting illegals off the hook?
Now think about this for a minute. Who has gained jobs since Obama took office?
Clue: Obama just filed another lawsuit!
LAWYERS!!!
Let's see how many Republicans run away from her and hide under the bed. "Mommy mommy, I'm not a racist, Mommy!"
Imagine, next they will say there is no reason to have our military, our rockets, or any defenses for our country, because it is just too big...and the borders too vast. Obama would let any enemy come in and take over. He is such a wuss...he cannot stand up to protect anything but himself. Then he gets forceful and defensive. Ever notice...he can only speak out against FOX or Glenn Beck, LOL, but not against our enemies or illegal immigration, or terrorists. What a little, little milque toast of a man.
Those in D.C. who refuse to follow the law to maintain do so for no other reason than to remain in power illegally.
In addition to punishment for not following the law and deporting the invaders, DUh-bama and his fellow LIEberal traitors should be impeached and promptly imprisoned for not building the fence...it’s in the law too.
