Republican Gov. Jan Brewer signed the law in April, and it was set to go into effect July 29. The lawsuit could delay implementation of the law. The U.S. Justice Department is filing a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of Arizona's new law targeting illegal immigrants, setting the stage for a clash between the federal government and state over the nation's toughest immigration crackdown.

“The law makes it a state crime for legal immigrants to not carry their immigration documents and bans day laborers and people who seek their services from blocking traffic on streets.
The law also prohibits government agencies from having policies that restrict the enforcement of federal immigration law and lets Arizonans file lawsuits against agencies that hinder immigration enforcement.”
So how much will Zero spend waging this lawsuit battle? Those same dollars could go to sending National Guard to the border.
Muehler v. Mena shoots the Feds down in flames.

I thought this was old news. Obama and his henchmen have been promising litigation since Day 1.
“’As other states and localities go their own ways, we face the prospect that different rules for immigration will apply in different parts of the country,’ Obama said.”

Utter bullshit. The law in Arizona is virtually identical to the federal law. Since Obama won’t enforce the laws, the states have to do so, and this is how it should be done. Screw the feds. While they piss around, states like Arizona are being overrun with illegals. Those states have to protect themselves; they can’t wait for the feds to do it for them.
As Commander-in-Chief - isn’t he sworn to protect our borders - and Yet look at what he has done about Illegal immigration and the oil spill - And even the national terrorist threat in Dec. ~ NOTHING!
To me - those are grounds for Treason!
This is what the article says:
“Associated Press by a Justice Department official with knowledge of the plans . . . didn’t want to be identified before
** a public announcement planned for Later Tuesday.”

Michelle has good coverage.
TYRANNY: We are so close!

# In modern usage, the word “tyrant” carries connotations of a harsh and cruel ruler who places his or her own interests or the interests of a small oligarchy over the best interests of the general population, which the tyrant governs or controls. ...
I find it funny that people focus on the southern border as an open border. I used to mountain bike in upstate NY a lot in the past few years and many times I would ride along the border for dozens of miles where there isn’t so much as even a fence.
And where is the US Justice Department's lawsuit to throw out Obamacare on Constitutionality grounds? How about the supression of his birth certificate because the citizenry doesn't have a "compelling interest" to verify their president is elligible for the office he holds?
In addition, Missouri and Virginia have been enforcing immigration laws identical to Arizona’s law for the last 3-5 years with not a peep from Zero.
Because people don’t have Right there and Entitlement program.
lawsuit against a state which enforces the law, while dropping charges against black racists holding sticks outside a voting booth
nah this admin and obama are not corrupt or have an agenda do they
ARF
maybe the GOP could actually get some balls and mention this
The problem is not as he says ,”A patchwork of local immigration rules where we all know one clear national standard is needed.”, but in fact it is because Arizona will actually apply the law they passed.
I prefer any, statewide patchwork of, laws that are enforced over 1000 perfectly scripted Fed. laws that are simply ignored for political purposes.
The thing that is disturbing is Obama will give illegals amnesty and Pubs. will do nothing to stop it because they don’t want to look prejudiced, or maybe they agree with it.
That’ nice... Were there millions of non-citizens pouring across the border there?
