“irst show me where I ever said I hated mormons.”

You don’t have to. Your comment infers it for you. And Glenn Beck can teach whatever he wants. Got something against self-taught individuals? Like Abe Lincoln? Like Rush Limbaugh, like Sean Hannity. Or are you saying that you have to be a college educated, education major indoctrinated in socialist teaching philosophy, in order to be our sole instructors. Don’t read any of the great philosophers from the past to learn anything as most were not college educated either. Never become an apprentice to any skilled master craftsman, as you might learn something from those carpenters, bricklayers, electricians, who never graduated from college. Are you a snob as to where you get your education from? I suppose Bill Gates (another non-Grad from college) couldn’t teach you about business or computers. An army sniper shouldn’t teach you how to shoot a weapon, a shoemaker how to make and repair shoes. What are you doing on this website if you don’t believe in the concept of doing what you can do well and impart it to others. You are capable of checking that person’s primary sources and read on your own to find out if you are being led down the primrose learning path or not.

Glenn Beck never sleeps because he is always reading, reading, reading, learning, learning, learning, and now he has become quite expert in early American history. I would ten times prefer to get my American history from him than some biased, liberal Professor type, and most of the Professors at public institutions of higher learning are exactly that. I know, as I retired from one of those liberal public Universities, and was surrounded by the philosophical political enemy. I know whom I wouldn’t want as an instructor, as it would be an attitudinal problem, and that is you.

It is your accusation, this is not an answer: Your comment infers it for you

Either show me a comment of mine where I say I hate mormons or stop talking.

Oh, wow. I'll be bruised in the morning.

As a side note I have no problem at all with my attitude.

Just as we ANTIs will CONTINUE to post remarks and statements MADE BY MORMON LEADERS on FR.

And; MORMONs will continue to bitch that we are haters and bigots for posting these HISTORICAL FACTS.

The speaker implies, the hearer infers.

I am both ‘self taught’ and classically taught. One is not better than the other. Both have their advantages and drawbacks. I am better read than most American, sadly, because I (and MrR) have spent our lives reading and researching on our own. However, WHAT you read and what you accept as true makes a difference. i would not want someone who reads (and accepts) Zin’s “A Peoples History of the United States” teaching American History any more than I would want someone who reads (and accepts) a fraud like the Book of Mormon (Beck) teaching Religion or the history of American Indians. Not all books are ‘great’.

And I don’t believe Glen Beck never sleeps because he is reading and considering his Mormonism, I would question his ‘expertise’ in American History, especially if he reads a lot of books writte from an LDS viewpoint (Like Skousen). You are assuming that because Beck claims to be a conservative, that his views are not biased and there is no proof of that. In fact, there IS proof of the contrary.

FWIW, some of the best professors I had were ones I disagreed with completely, because I was FORCED into checking sources, reading outside the course requirements and debating them. THOSE are the classes I learned the most in and the ones that challenged me most.

Unlike some people, I do not take what I am told at ‘face value’. That was how I got into Mormonism. Rather I verify EVERYTHING and trust no one even if that means having to ‘undo’ an authors work (which BTW, I was known for in Grad school) by checking every single footnote and source.

No, you inferred it; it was not implied in the comment.

Furthermore, what does anti-Mormonism have to do with support for public education? I know ex-Mormon home-schoolers, and many fundamentalist (therefore anti-Mormon) Christians send their kids to private church schools. Your comments are nonsensical, like shouting, "You hate cake! You must be against chocolate!"
