Fox News host Glenn Beck announced Tuesday that he has launched an online “academic program” teaching classes in “religion, American history and economics.”
“School may be out for the summer, but for Glenn Beck class is just starting,” reads an announcement on Beck’s website. “This July, while others are relaxing poolside, head back to the classroom — from the comfort of your own home. That may sound like an oxymoron, but Glenn’s new academic program is only available online.”

If you had ever listened to a current crop of public school teachers talk for more than an hour, you would probably realize that as crazy as Beck is - he is over-qualified.

It does not state that he's going to discuss "...how our founding fathers were religious, and how our country was founded on religious principles..."
Note that he's going to have religious discussions on the present and future. One would hope he would not allow his personal faith to be interjected into the "lessons", but since it's his "university", one has no such assurance.

Hey Non, have you ever seen the actual, signed original copy of the Confederate Constitution?
Glenn stated that he was holding and reading the ORIGINAL copy, not a typed, posted, marked-up version on the internet. You can NOT say that Glenn is wrong unless you have seen the original which he (and Mr. Barton) says specifically reads as he stated on his show.
If it’s religion as in the founding of the nation and our Constitutional rights, then this is a good thing.

You don’t have to. Your comment infers it for you. And Glenn Beck can teach whatever he wants. Got something against self-taught individuals? Like Abe Lincoln? Like Rush Limbaugh, like Sean Hannity. Or are you saying that you have to be a college educated, education major indoctrinated in socialist teaching philosophy, in order to be our sole instructors. Don’t read any of the great philosophers from the past to learn anything as most were not college educated either. Never become an apprentice to any skilled master craftsman, as you might learn something from those carpenters, bricklayers, electricians, who never graduated from college. Are you a snob as to where you get your education from? I suppose Bill Gates (another non-Grad from college) couldn’t teach you about business or computers. An army sniper shouldn’t teach you how to shoot a weapon, a shoemaker how to make and repair shoes. What are you doing on this website if you don’t believe in the concept of doing what you can do well and impart it to others. You are capable of checking that person’s primary sources and read on your own to find out if you are being led down the primrose learning path or not.
Glenn Beck never sleeps because he is always reading, reading, reading, learning, learning, learning, and now he has become quite expert in early American history. I would ten times prefer to get my American history from him than some biased, liberal Professor type, and most of the Professors at public institutions of higher learning are exactly that. I know, as I retired from one of those liberal public Universities, and was surrounded by the philosophical political enemy. I know whom I wouldn’t want as an instructor, as it would be an attitudinal problem, and that is you.

He’ll be doing what he’s been doing on his TV program, showing how our founding fathers were religious, and how our country was founded on religious principles, but for all the Mormon haters, of course they would assume, Glenn being a Mormon, that he will try to indoctrinate all of us to Mormonism. Geez.....

Well, he has and will continue to. Those who are brainwashed into Mormonism can’t help but spout what they are told over and over again. BTW, I hate MORMONISM, I love (and pity) those bound by the chains (Mormons).
On his show a few weeks ago he said THIS (which is VERBATIM LDS PROPAGANDA against traditional Christianity and completely WRONG)...he couldn’t even get the DSS right...

And then they said, “Anybody that disagrees with this is a heretic and off with their head!” Well, that’s what the Dead Sea Scrolls are. The Dead Sea Scrolls are those scriptures that people had at the time that they said, “They are destroying all of this truth.” Whether it’s truth or not is up to the individual, but at that time those people thought that this was something that needed to be preserved and so they rolled up the scrolls and put them in clay pots and they put them in the back of caves where no one could find them. They were hidden scripture because everything was being destroyed that disagreed with the Council of Nicea and Constantine. That’s what those things are.”

THIS should prove interesting!
If he was going to provide a format for the best Constitutional minds to talk about freedom of religion, the Constitution, etc... and keep his religious beliefs to himself, that would be one thing.
But, I am wary of him. Because there have been instances where he has crossed the line and I’ve been very disappointed in him. I don’t listen to him in the same way, anymore. I listen very carefully and cautiously.
It’s the ill-informed that I’m concerned about.

And, sadly, those who do not know any better, will probably fall for it.
