The last presidential campaign, its election and each and every day since have crystallized the magic and malice of the national media. By working its magic, the media were able to keep Obama hidden in clear sight. His past was selectively chosen, his present was a manufactured eloquence of hope and change, his future was his transcendent ability to lead us to the land of milk and honey, and his gaffes were editorially retrofitted. The media took a virtual unknown and kept him unknown.
This Camelot euphoria was interrupted by another unknown that stoked the malice of the media. Unexpectedly, a non-elite commoner caused a derangement syndrome with Obama and his media acolytes that came out of the clear blue; the source of their derangement ... Sarah Palin.
The media launched a D-Day scale invasion of Alaska. Its mission was not to report, but to search and destroy. Every nook and cranny of Palin's life and anyone and everyone associated with her was scrutinized. Nothing was off limits: having five children was improper, her children's names were ridiculed, her fifth child was portrayed as her grandchild, and her everyday life was depicted as trailer trash. The universal talking point was the vice presidential candidate is not only barefoot and pregnant, Palin is dumb.

((((( Palin Ping! )))))
Reminds me of the ‘they fear Fred’ & ‘Fear the Fred’ mantras.
Good one. Thanks for the chuckle.

F### them all.
Maybe they aren't as dumb as they appear...
I’ve said it before but should she win in 2012(a long way off), the election night coverage on Nov 6, 2012 will be the greatest night in the history of television.
I’d actually be more excited about seeing that than her actually becoming President. To see Couric(although given her ratings and contract she may be gone by then), Matthews, Olbermann, Williams, Brokaw, and all the other newtork anchors and pundits react to that would be priceless.
I can’t really imagine a more entertaining few hours of tv than to watch the coverage of “Palin 45th President” on 11/06/12.
And the best part is there’d be no more liberal media come 2013 because they’ll all have keeled over by then out of despair, shock or both.
Just like George Lopez said all the illegal immigrants will leave voluntarily if Palin becomes President. She’d solve problems even before taking office.
I feel sorry for him when bantering with Bill O'Reily as Bill is too afflicted with his own, self-imposed 'fairness doctrine', at a time when the enemy needs a good ass-wooping.
The Dems truly fear Sarah as they should. Their Messiah, whatever his background, touches something and it turns to sh*t, not gold. In the back of their minds, should Amnesty come to pass, they realize that even 20-30 million voting Sombreros won't cut it against Mrs. Palin in 2012. By then, unemployment will be so high pushing a lawnmower with an accent may carry with it the very real risk of evoking a sense of nationalism- the last thing the Left wants to evoke as they kinda don't like America very much.
The Dems fear Sarah for her executive ability as demonstrated while governor and her ability to inspire people. American people.
She might not be well received in China, Russia, or Iran, but they're not big on individual freedoms and cling to collectivism and big government as the social forces to be reckoned with. Since much of America subscribes to this same philosophy her success is not forgone.
Should the first Brown President be a one-termer (all indications point to yes and fail at the same time- and didn't he say as much in pursuit of MandatoryHealthCare) Sarah would likely run against the Secretary of Statism- Mrs. Bill Clinton. Bill's wife, the queen of collectivism and big government, would have to run as something Obama is not, which would be impossible. Worse still would be comparisons available to the public between her husband Bill, and Todd Palin (distinctions have consequences) and in this case, obvious even to the visually impaired.
Yes, the Left has every reason to fear Sarah Palin. Not just a few reasons, every last damn reason people call themselves American.
I don’t think this author is the same as the comedian/commentator Dennis Miller. He specifically mentions Bucks County in his piece so I think this is a local writer who just happens to have the same name.
Absolutely! I am so there.
They did fear Fred. So they pushed Huckabee, they split the conservative support and their problem was solved.
They do fear Sarah and they haven't come up with a solution yet.
