TAMPA - You may never have heard of Peggy Land, unless you're a Tampa Democratic political insider.
She's a proverbial little old lady in tennis shoes, but along with her late husband John, she has also been a faithful Democratic political donor - some $20,000 to the party and its candidates over the last decade or so, plus more from fundraisers in their home, and none to Republicans.
So who is Land backing in the U.S. Senate race?

Crist is the 2010 version of Scazzafava. I wonder if Newt has endorsed Charlie yet?
I really believe if they can get him elected in Florida that Crist is the Soros funded 3rd party candidate for 2012 — strategy to produce a Baraqqi win with a Clintonian plurality.
Crist should be running as a Dem...but he isn’t that honest!
I don't know. Right now, Crist seems more like the 2010 version of Joe Lieberman in 2006.
A Rubio defeat is Sen Bill Nelson’s (Rat-FL) worst nightmare for 2012. I suspect he is quietly contributing big $ to Rubio.
I heard a Kendrick Meeks interview on local radio a few weeks ago. Dim bulb. He makes The Wise Latina sound wise. He will get the core city black votes and little else.
Crist is such a weasel, he may pull it off.
I thought his run as an independent would split the left vote.
:-)
I don’t think he is even that. Lieberman still caucused with his old party after going “independent”... I bet Crist will side with the Dims.
You knew this was coming. The Dems seem to think alike, and naturally gravitate toward the best political strategy without being told to do so. Republicans, on the other hand, would argue about what a schmuck the candidate is, call each other names, and ultimately end up staying at home on election day in order to spite their fellow Republicans.
Good let them split the Democrat vote (assuming all/most 85-90% Republicans support rubio) and Rubio picks up the majority of independents/other, then the Democrats will be split among Meeks/the Dem businessman and Crist! WIN-WIN for Republicans.
Charlie better hope he wins big south of I-4. He’ll get clobbered north of that and in the Panhandle. What a phoney and fourflusher he is.
I’m not in panic mode yet for Rubio. He hasn’t been running ads yet while Crist has been a constant on TV with coverage of the BP fiasco. When it’s all said and done, Rubio will pull in at least 80% of Republicans and 60% of Hispanics. The key will be whether Meek is the Democratic nominee. If he is the nominee, he’ll be the spoiler for Crist by hoarding the black vote in Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and SE Florida.
“Republicans, on the other hand, would argue about what a schmuck the candidate is, call each other names, and ultimately end up staying at home on election day in order to spite their fellow Republicans.”
Well if you can’t have it all take your marbles, go home and complain to mommy is a viable strategy...for being a total looser. Some just don’t get the big picture. They love helping the left turn this country into a dictatorship.
A Rubio defeat is Sen Bill Nelsons (Rat-FL) worst nightmare for 2012. I suspect he is quietly contributing big $ to Rubio.

Why would a Rubio defeat upset Nelson? Total mess here in Florida....even the race for governor is so damn confusing with their piggy-back commercials contradicting each other - like who is the biggest liar, and now this Rubio/Meeks/Crist race is downright depressing...yes, I have to vote for Rubio, but not happy about it as I think he’s going to lose. Rubio’s shining star has lost all its shine and he’d better start doing something soon. Would love to know what others are thinking about Rubio?.
She is a RACIST would not vote for either the Black Democrat or the Cuban.
Just Kidding
It is in Nelson's interest to see Rubio elected in 2010.
I think LeMieux plans to run in 2012.
