On your way Sedona and Flagstaff are must sees! Prowl around downtown Flagstaff - some vintage places and restaurants and one hotel which reportedly has a haunted room. If you have time, head straight east and go through the White Mountains. Tribal territory but lots of beautiful lakes findable by heading down some interesting side roads, and canyon areas like the Grand Canyon on the way back to Poenix. There is a ski run of about 11,000 feet elevation in the White Mountains that still has a sprinkling of snow on the very top. Then there is the Apache Trail close to Globe which is also awesome.

Thanks! Coming from Colorado (from the East) by car. Will probably see the crater.
We are kind of going out of our way, but we want to support Arizona. Any recommendations east and northeast Arizona?

Gov. Brewer was on Hannity. She needs donations to fight the federal gov. I believe the website is http://www.safeaz.com. I couldn’t get in but I am on dial-up.

Yeah, I saw her. Am I the only one that's about ready to nominate her for President, 2012?

Winslow has some good little restaurants - the kind you see on Food Networks Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. The crater is a once-in-a-lifetime look at a huge hole in the ground.
If you're up to the trip, the chocolate falls along the Little Colorado River are an amazing sight! Right about now, as the monsoon rains hit northern Arizona, the Little Colorado River runs dark brown with runoff from normally dry streams. At the falls, the water actually looks like chocolate milk. Lemme see if I can find a link...
Here you go! This link also links to dozens of places to go and see some of the amazing natural beauty of our great state, as well as some man-made treats you'll enjoy.
