I wasn't aware that the Fortunes recorded "Seasons in the Sun." I remember the Terry Jacks version form 1973. At KING, the pre-teens called all the time requesting that number.
The Fortunes were best known for their 1965 hit, "You've Got Your Troubles", followed by the lesser hit "Here it Comes Again". They didn't have another hit until 1970 with "That Same Old Feeling." Then they came back in 1971 with "Here Comes that Rainy Day Feeling" and "Freedom".

I didn't know Jan and Dean recorded "Hang on Sloopy" either. I remember the original "My Girl Sloopy" by the Vibrations, and the renamed "Hang on Sloopy" from the McCoys.
You learn something new every day at FR.

Happy 4th. of July, Jack.

Many of my contemporaries had the distinct pleasure of serving under General Walker; everyone of them spoke very highly of him as a soldier and a commander.
Unless I’m mistaken, he lost a daughter at the Pentagon on 9/11.
