As a fairly normal guy, I have so many mixed feelings about these cases..I'll love to jail a male teacher forever if he was hitting on a teen, but on the other hand(being a guy), a female teacher hitting on a teen male comes across so different. My first time was with a 17 yr old gal, I was 14. In no way do I think I am scarred for life from it. Would it have mattered to me if it was a 25 yr old?? Doubtful.

Whats worse?? A 25 yr woman instructor/teacher hitting on a 16 yr old male? or; A 30something male teacher/professor hitting on an 18 female college student?

To me tho, as a parent (of sons) and as a teacher, it’s an issue of a teacher taking advantage of their position (no pun intended). Do you send your kids to school to be hit on by teachers? Do you want a teacher treated differently because she’s a female? How do you write laws to say, sure its ok for a female teacher to have sex with her students but not a male teacher? What age is then appropriate? I don’t know if it harms a boy (it likely depends on the kid, the situation, did he feel like he had to, and really, are all boys the same in that regard? Being a female, I can’t really say, I simply don’t know, and I bet all men can’t even speak for all men, I mean, is every guy here ready to say there aren’t some encounters they wish they had not had or are they happy with every one of them?).
At any rate, I still say, teachers need to keep their hands off of kids and if they can’t, they need to find another occupation. Period, end of story. And, I have a concern about men who don’t get that. I really do. And I bet, if the man has a 14 year old son and his son’s female teacher has sex with that son, I suspect that man will change his tune. But maybe I’m wrong.
