Why can't we demand Obama's resignation?
June 30, 2010 | 13Sisters76

Please forgive the vanity post- I know you all hate them. But I am driven to ask this question- WHy cannot the people demand the resignation of this totallly incompetent man? And not just him- ALL his appointees and czars, AND his SC appointees, as well.

In 1973, the media, backed by a handful of leftist activists, drove Nixon from office- who had been elected in a landslide that the demonRATs can only dream of. The majority of the people did not want this to happen, but it happened anyway. Now it is the PEOPLE who want this man and his minions gone, but WE can't do what THEY did? I know, I know- there are petitions out there and I have signed a few. But I am talking a GROUNDSWELL- I'm talking a major concentrated effort by the people. Someone MUST know how to start this. If the lefties can do it, then certainly those with a brain can.

Isn't it time? Can't we DO this? This is OUR country and those with traitorous, anti-Constitutional plans can't stop us if this is what we demand. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm beginning to think we are running out of time.

Lets see. I have been a 45% to 50% slave in this “free country”. My kids will be 60 to 70% slave. We are just talking percentages here. At what point (%) do we say we have had enough. The old saw that we are a nation of laws holds sway until exactly what %?

I agree that our civil liberties could be closed down by a process of erosion and the checks and balances that the founders systematically dismantled, a process IMO started by Bush.

But our democracy is far too resilient and our military and judiciary too independent for any kind of scenario like a violent, total closing-down of the system as happened in European fascism with Mussolini or Hitler. When it comes down to it, I don’t think any American would trust anyone with that kind of power. Imposing regulations on the financial industry or whatnot is hardly a full-blown dictatorship. And look at the trend line of support for the president — even among blacks Obama is on shaky ground. November is only four months away. :)

If anyone was actually able to provide proof that the democrat party had knowingly put forth and defended a candidate they knew was not eligible I'd hope that more than just Pelosi would fall for more than just perjury...it would be treason of epic proportions. And one would think the democrat party should also lose it's license as a legitimate party with a cast of thousands likely to spend the rest of their lives in prison. Now I very much doubt that, even if true, the republicans would have the stones to push it that far even if it would be justice.

If Obama were to use gas, sabers, bayonets, & bullets on peaceful, but determined protesters, it would be the end of his presidency, & mission accomplished for the protesters. I said it would be ugly, & it will be. “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead”.

BTW, the Bonus Army got their bonus in 1936, despite an FDR veto.

Humor my political fantasy!

It’s so tragic ... what’s going on.

Fair points, but I won’t be there.

I agree with Patton about dying for one’s country.

I don’t think BO has the stones for an honest to God, realtime confrontation. His whole existence appears to have been managed and sheltered. When push comes to shove, I think he will have the staying power of Romulus Augustulus.

I agree with you. As a Dad of 4 I can remember asking myself - not long ago - the same questions that started this thread. Why can’t we throw this traitor out of our house? I spent a lot of time considering what it would mean if a revolution or a civil war began. Asking myself - what would I do? What would it mean to my children?

There is a wonderful clarity of mind that comes when one really, truly, works this out.

“Whether the independence of the continent was declared too soon, or delayed too long, I will not now enter into as an argument; my own simple opinion is, that had it been eight months earlier, it would have been much better.”

Interesting way to look at it. I’m pretty sure, though, that we would all apply different factors to calculate and therefore have different measures of what amount of slavery we would endure. I think that- borrowing from someone smarter than myself - we are free when we decide to be.
If a law is unjust and unreasonable I can choose to ignore it or I can attack it - Both are ways of revolting against it IMHO. We have to be a nation of just laws. I would not have turned in a runaway slave. I would not turn in someone who exercised free speech just because a government official wanted me to. I will not purchase health insurance simply because my government mandates that I do.
Not really sure I’m answering your very valid question. Bottom line - the amount of freedom I’m willing to give up before reacting will be different than yours.

That’s it? THAT is what we fear? That a bunch of animals will make a mess? If that’s the case, then we have lost already.

Well, silly or not, it sure has provided YOU with something to do, “arrogantsob” (telling name, btw)

Let me be the first (and probably the last) to thank you so very much for your positive input. It certainly tells THIS gramma what’s wrong with those who sit back, grouse, and have nothing to offer.

Sorry, but I don’t consider the destruction of the country and the shredding of the Constitution to be “light and transient”. Do you?

I agree with much of what you say. I can’t, in my whole life, remember waiting for a mid-term election with such anticipation. Unfortunately, we are still stuck with him for 2 years beyond that, along with all his unvetted czars and appointees using the agencies and executive orders to wreak havoc.

Thomas Paine - ‘The Crisis’ December 23, 1776.

If you have never read it before you are in for a great treat. I envy you the pleasure of reading it with a fresh eye.

This pamphlet may have saved the revolution from failure, as it rallied them morale of the people, and most importantly the army, at the lowest ebb of the war.

Make yourself really comfortable, get some peace and quiet, and enjoy:

I’m betting not. We spent a long time in the Army and my husband and I have discussed this unlikely possibility. I believe the military would not turn their guns on the American people. I just believe this.

You are most likely right. My worry is that government could take our freedoms away to the point that elections mean nothing.
If we can’t speak freely or only if our speech is monitored and Ok’d first, if government can regulate away the right to protect ourselves, if our government can mandate that we purchase a product that we may not even want (Obamacare) then what else can they take away? What else can they regulate and force upon us?
Maybe I’m just overreacting and paranoid. I’d hate to be wrong about that though.

No. I’m not concerned about the riots. I am concerned about the RACE WAR that will happen once this gets going.

Massive bloodletting on BOTH sides. They’re armed too, y’know.

Is that what we’re wanting? Not me.

NS is the biggest contrarian on FR and he cracks me up.

It doesn’t help that he generally correct and very frustrating to the rest of us.

But, I like the guy and appreciate his humor, when he shows it.

Oh, and yes, I would like for nothing more than to read about a bungled burglary in the morning and watch the color run from Barry’s face.
