INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Supreme Court upheld Indiana's voter identification law in a 4-1 decision released Wednesday.
The state's highest court heard arguments in the case in March. At the time, they questioned why plaintiffs didn't list any victims of the 2005 law, though it had been in place through several election cycles.
In the majority opinion, the court ruled, in part, that "it is within the power of the Legislature to require voters to identify themselves at the polls using a photo ID."
The League of Women Voters had argued that the law violated the state constitution because it imposes a requirement on some voters but not all -- noting that absentee voters aren't required to prove their identity.
The state appeals court in 2009 threw out the law in a 3-0 decision. That ruling was vacated, and the ID requirement remained in place.

Do you know where the "Hoosier" label came from? Beck schooled me on that one.
Me too, though this time if a Colt receiver catches a pass deflected by another Colt receiver it will be a LEGITIMATE catch since the rule has been changed.

The federal courts have already ruled that the law is OK.
