What a joke. I’ll bet 0 tax money was needed for any gas station along the way.

I’m working on developing a 1,000 mile extension cord that will make these stations obsolete.

100 miles on a charge. At what speed? At what temperature?

As a supremely superior smart person, I'll be sticking with my 400-500 miles range 3 minute charge up gasoline powered zoomer.
As will my supremely superior smart children, their children and so on and so on for hundreds and hundreds of years into the future.
One day the little ones will say after a history class, 'hmph, all this time I thought green was just a color.".

“As early as the end of this year, you might be able to hop into your plug-in electric car and drive to Portland, Ore., or Vancouver, B.C., without worrying about finding a charging station. “
And after that, you’re on your own.
“The exact locations have yet to be determined, but theyll be spaced at roughly 80-mile intervals along the 276-mile length of I-5 in the state, within a mile of the freeway. This spacing would make Snohomish County a candidate for one of the stations, though Buell said its too early to say for sure. “
So you’ll be able to drive for 3.45 hours (total), but have to ‘recharge’ for 27.6 hours (assuming 8 hours charge time).
Yeah.. Real ‘convenient’...

I don’t have a plug-in electric car, to be honest, I’d rather walk.

So how much more coal is going to be necessary to handle the increased load from electric cars. Seems to me in the end, electric cars will wind up being even worse for the environment.

100 miles on a charge. At what speed? At what temperature? And at what speed? Also what will the gradient changes do to range?

No note of who will maintain them. Not a mention of the cost to plug in. Looks like we’re on the hook again. ;-(

Who would use these? Three to eight hours charging time?!?!!? Will they have a motel for you to spend the night?
If you just burned the money, at least you’d get some heat energy out of it.
If these were such a good idea, why don’t EXISTING GAS STATIONS add charging stations?!?!?...instead of building new trash with tax money.

Try and find a mechanic to fix one.....

"So youll be able to drive for 3.45 hours (total), but have to recharge for 27.6 hours (assuming 8 hours charge time). Yeah.. Real convenient..." Indeed. If you look at some of the times and distances covered by Tevis Cup mounts and riders, one would actually make better time on horseback. Seriously.
