We need to deport or imprison ALL illegal aliens, including their anchor babies, seal/secure the border and SHOOT anyone who tries to re-enter illegally.

“If the president had visited the Arizona-Mexico border, he would know that at least 6,000 National Guard troops are necessary to assist in securing the entire Southwest border,”

Ha, that would require he had some grasp of military operations.

This doesn’t even approach a “bandaid”, it’s more like tossing a piece of lint on a gaping wound.

If the president had visited the Arizona-Mexico border

Since there's no golf courses or cocktail parties along the border, Obama doesn't really have any reason to visit, does he?

/sarc (but not really)

Good old Rick Perry. Talking tough on immigration during election season, then flying to Mexico to make another “fences don’t make good neighbors” speech once he’s safely back in office.

“What we heard wasn’t anything what we hoped to hear,” Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona said. Texas Governor Rick Perry of Texas said the deployment to his state was insufficient.

Both of you have the option of calling up your respective state National Guard units, and using them as a backstop to the Border Patrol (so as not to interfere in its operations). If Obama decides to override your decision by federalizing those troops, then BOTH OF YOU should respond by immediately calling up your state's militia. I'd even advocate a massive expansion of your respective militias by automatically adding any holder of a concealed carry license who is between the ages of 18 and 65 to their ranks.

Further, if you really want someone to pay attention to you, you will authorize all of those called up to carry full auto M16s (or whatever else is modern and available) while on patrol, and direct that all such individuals keep that firearm and 500 rounds of ammo in their homes. Ordering 10,000 or 50,000 full autos from Bushmaster, Colt, etc. will definitely grab some attention, and its perfectly legal under the National Firearms Act (as amended) - these will be state troops, and you each have the power to arm them as you decide.

DO IT! If you are at all serious about the safety of your citizens and protecting your state's border from drug gangs and overwhelming illegal immigration, then DO IT!

Governor Perry, I'm a Texan and I vote. You do something about this, and do it FAST, or I will stay home on Election Day and reload ammo. I promise you that such is far more enjoyable to me than standing on line for 2 hours to vote for people that only mouth meaningless platitudes to get votes - but you can easily get me away from the reloading bench by fulfilling your sworn responsibilities.

Here’s a new idea for Arizona. Since federal unemployment benefits are to be running out soon, why not offer a nominal sum to unemployed Arizonans to form a desert posse to augment the efforts to reduce illegal crossings?

Substitute teachers are normally paid $50 a day, which is peanuts. For federal minimum wage, which is $58 a day, there are probably a lot of people who would jump at the offer, especially if they threw in three free meals a day. Maybe a grand total of $70 a person per day.

Well, foo, you’d have to double it to $140 a day, to pay the FICA taxes to the feds. But that is still not much.

Most of these folks could be deployed “in depth”, so they would not be on the front lines. Instead they would keep an eye out for those who had made it through the BP lines. This gives them added protection, because if anyone shoots at them, the shooter is, in effect, surrounded, and would have to escape and evade to get back to Mexico.

As Governors, they have the executive authority and the right to use the state National Guard units at their borders to protect the citizens of their respective states.

Call the Guard up, send them to the border, and then we’ll know the Govs are serious.

Until then, well, not so much.

Texas Governor Rick Perry of Texas said the deployment to his state was insufficient.

Ok, here is the deal Rick. If you have a SHREAD of common sense you will see that your statement opens the door to easing back to the winning position of forcing the illegal aliens out of Texas. The heavy lifting has already been done by Jan. All you need do is jump on the pathetic "Texas gets 250 troops" offer from the prancing President and run with your statement of "the deployment to his state was insufficient."

Actually "insufficient" does not even qualify as laughable. It is a DIRECT slap in your face as to the reality of the Texas / mexico border.

Allow me...

That is the acronym-FECG–Fuerzas especiales del cartel del Golfo.

In English that is Special Forces of The Gulf Cartel

This is what came out of ONE Zeta camp. There are enough weapons, ammunition and radios in just this ONE camp to equip all of the "250 Troops" that the prancing President is insulting you with.

So Governor Perry, how is that SB 1070 looking to you now?

.

About a month ago, Rick Perry derided the new Arizona law. He must have read a poll and changed his mind.
