some local radio chick, who is well-known here in ATL upset me with her MORNING CHAT topic- and then, apparently I was able to give the office secretary quite a good morning chuckle when I had the nerve to actually call their office with my concern.
Our sweet Vicki thought it would be a great idea to discuss a friend of her’s relationship. See, her friend’s boyfriend of over two yrs has NEVER spent the night! GASP! WHY? He has NEVER spent the night at her house! What is wrong with him?
PERFECT ON-AIR material at 8 AM? truly! She even mentioned that the reason her husband gave her is something she can’t even repeat on the air. Don’t ya think that would be CLUE one that maybe this should not be an ON-AIR conversation?
This is NOT a “MIX” station that plays rap, etc.... They play 80’s and 90’s. Some Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, etc....but nothing heavy...it has a family friendly reputation.....
Callers were calling in talking about “hit it and git out”— at EIGHT AM!!!
My girls are 9 and 11— what a GREAT family conversation!
When I called the station, bless her heart- the secretary almost made it through the entire conversation before bursting out into laughter......impressive professionalism......very impressive.....

I feel your pain.
I certainly hope you changed the station. Culturally, we’re the weirdos, I reckon. Did your younguns hear this? A teachable moment, as they say. (and we get A LOT of those, as moms of girls these days.)

told him how impressed I was with the professionalism of his staff.....and that I was glad I could give his office a good laugh today.....

I know morning radio is suppose to be a little edgy and entertaining, but Oy Vey!
I realize Glenn has read all these folks....
but— the caliber of today’s Americans, is NOT the same as it was during that time.....
I know GOD is capable of ANYTHING...I also believe that NONE of us DESERVE any of His forgiveness or grace- However; America as a whole is slapping God in the face, day after day after day......I pray He keeps His hand on us....but I believe one day, God is going allow us to face ourselves.....
anyway— I believe our BEST days are behind us....we will never return to the kind of leaders we had in our birth and creation.....
However— I do believe it is going to get worse, way worse, and then we will have heroes rise up amidst the pain.....and help the lead the way in a great battle for America’s soul......

I am just shocked at the secretary....I mean truly— who the heck trained her?
When a customer calls in, upset at anything- the FIRST thing you do is apologize to them... “I am so sorry we have upset you today.” Step Two is pass them onto someone more important to make sure they feel important....”Would you like me to get your name and number and have the program director call you so you can explain this to him/her?”
Boom— real easy....the poor gal— I must interrupted her texting....
I make homemade frappacinos....(sp?— LOL!)
I make STRONG coffee....then I put sugar, cream, cinnamon, and ice in the blender.....add hot coffee.....blend...
poor into glass half full of ice....top with whipped cream and cinnamon, grab a straw.....refill as much as possible...
I make it EVERY MORNING in the summer....

it is my “treat” for the day....
I feel that it will be our younguns that will win this fight.
We will have to endure a time of bondage and it will be the younger ones to rise up and reclaim the nation.
I haven’t thrown in the towel just yet, but I do know it’ll get worse before it gets better as they say.
I believe you’re right— our kids stand a better chance than our generation— MTV came out and that was the end of our usefulness....LOL__ at least as a whole group anyway....

oh— it is awesome!!!
I love those frapp’s you can buy— but they are SO expensive....even an iced coffee at Mcdonald’s is expensive...so I figured, hey- I can make my own...it’s just coffee and ice....the only real extra expense on my morning coffee habit is that I keep a bag of ice in the house (that runs about $1.40/week) and the whipped cream (about $2.60/week- a grand total of about $4 a week-— not a bad price for an awesome way to start everyday!)
A heaping tbsp of unsweetened baking cocoa ups the anti-oxidant factor!

My youngest loves those dang McD’s iced coffees!
I still can’t get past the price for them! (why, yes I’m a tightwad.)
Good thing we only do fast food about 4 or so times A YEAR.
Wonder if a good brand of instant coffee would work instead of fresh brewed?
I used to make my own Kaluha with instant. (back when I used to drink.)
