Barnicle Can't Bring Himself To Mention Byrd's Klan Past
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

When Republican Sen. Strom Thurmond died, the MSM was quick to stress his segregationist past. The New York Times ran the headline "Strom Thurmond, Foe of Integration, Dies at 100," leaving readers to imagine the South Carolinian had remained an advocate of segregation. The very first line of USA Today's story described Thurmond as "the nation's most prominent segregationist."

Strange how the MSM can suddenly become reticent about mentioning someone's segregationist past when the late politician in question is a Democrat. On Morning Joe today, Mark Halperin and Mike Barnicle used elliptical language worthy of a State Department dispatch to avoid mentioning that Byrd had been a member and leader of the Ku Klux Klan. This morning, even NPR radio called him a “champion of civil rights.”

Good grief! Is there no shame in this world!

You do know that the final draft of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was written by Republicans. That’s the bill that exists today.

The ultimate politician: Whichever way the wind blew, that
was his position.

Just goes to show you that there’s really not a lot of difference in ‘em. Does having “Republicans” write the final draft of a bill make it somehow better than if Dims write it if the result is the same - Socialism?
At least Conservative Texas Republicans were not fooled by this crap.

Where is socialism in the civil rights act?

Go back and read it yourself. It tells private businesses who they have to do business with. It laid the groundwork for the government be able to tell you, as an individual, who to sell your house to (Which is still being used to destroy neighborhoods nationwide - for example, I could not safely live in the neighborhood I grew up in. We have basically been “ethnically cleansed.”) as well as the beginning of “affirmative action” AKA anti White discrimination.
The “civil rights” act was only the beginning and certainly not the end all. They have been adding new laws and “regulations” all the time. There’s no end to it. It’s a Saul Alinsky thing. It’s now quickly destroyng our country
as a place for decent people to live.

"It tells private businesses who they have to do business with"

That's a stretch. And you haven't provided an example of socialism. At any rate, my original post was to clarify which party was invloved in which aspect. You're on a completely different tangent.
