LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Two former actresses in the adult film industry, including Diana Grandmason, are filing a California lawsuit against Adult Industry Medical Health Care Foundation (AIM), a Los Angeles area HIV testing clinic funded by and serving the adult film industry, alleging privacy breaches of their protected patient health data.
The lawsuit, which will be filed in Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, on Monday June 28th (Case # TBA), includes claims of unfair and deceptive business practices, violations of civil code and unlawful public disclosure of private health information. The lawsuit also seeks class action status to include claims by other current and former adult film actors whose health information may have also routinely—and illegally—been released by AIM to film producers working in the adult industry. The lawsuit is being supported by AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), which has separately been championing safety reforms in the adult film industry including efforts to require the use of condoms in all adult film productions. Tom Myers and Brian Chase, two AHF attorneys working pro bono to represent the two former adult stars prepared the lawsuit and arranged its filing.

The yack has been going round the porn film directors about which porn stars have AIDS so they can be careful who they cast to have actual sex with them on camera?
Sounds like they are (excuse the pun) just covering their own hind ends. The porn business itself is more tawdry than any gossip could be.

But how silly can you get. This is like telling about who has a cold so you don’t cast another star kissing that person and have your star get sick.
Courts have ruled that "privacy" trumps just about everything. Drs can't tell a parent that their child is pregnant or has an STD without that child's OK.

The obvious end result of this lawsuit is that porn stars will not need to be tested which will lead to more HIV infections which will then lead to lawsuits against the studio for pairing them with an infected actor or actress which then destroy the industry.
Anyone with half a brain sees how this will all collapse on itself if the studios have no way of knowing other than by the actor's own words whether their performers are disease-free. No intelligent business person would risk capital in a business where they can't protect themself from lawsuits.

But seriously , this clinic exists to do testing and hand out what amounts to “permission to work” slips ,, they exist to give out medical info, they are a HIPPA violation ... they aren’t angels , they did cover up several HIV infected actresses a few years back because they “couldn’t determine the source” ...
